Summary: I'm a player of many gaming styles, however, Survival Horrors have a special place in my heart. Though the genre suffers the same horrors (pun intended) of the Horror movie genre, a traditional lack of quality being an attribute of the genre itself.
Summary: Nice addition to the Silent Hill franchise. It is spooky and scary at times, but it relies mostly on cheap parlor tricks for horror. The monsters aren't that scary, there are only 4 types of them, and they are pretty easy to beat once you get the timing of their attack down.
Summary: Graphics: Character models don’t look that great, the environments/atmosphere I thought was great and felt like a Silent Hill game. The creatures looked okay but in no way were they Silent Hill creatures. 8.5. Sound: It felt like Silent Hill, creepy, nice themes, annoying creatures. 10.
Summary: If I may, I'd like to begin with a quote from a fellow Amazon reviewer for this title: Joman1000: "Despite that (Silent Hill 1) disturbed me beyond words and gave me recurrent nightmares, I felt compelled to keep coming back for more just because it was such an inexplicable, bizarre, unique,...
Summary: Have you ever noticed that every time a franchise attempts to move in a new direction, masses of fans start their agonized complaining? I love Silent Hill. The series is one of my all time favorites, and playing the original for playstation is still one of the defining moments of my gaming career.
Summary: I really don't know why people haven't mentioned this yet but Silent Hill Downpour can be played in 3D and it's FANTASTIC in 3D. Seriously, not a lot of games are great in 3D but this one just works. Maybe I'm overselling it a tiny bit, but imo it adds about 20% more fun to the game.
Summary: First. I gotta say that I am not a die hard "fanboy" of the series. The first SH game I played was Homecoming which I enjoyed and I didn't understand what all the negative reviews were about. Anyway.
Summary: First let me say I'm a true fan of the Silent Hill series, and after seeing the 20$ price for Downpour, I decided to buy it. And after playing it, I found myself enjoying Downpour very much, I'm not to sure why this title got so many negative reviews.
A flawed gem, but a gem nonetheless - BUY THIS NOW!

Summary: If you read reviews before buying games you've seen 3 negative things said about this game: 1)Frame rate issues abound. 2)Monster designs are really bad, boring and not up to the series' standards. 3)Akira Yamaoka, the composer and producer of the series is no longer part of it.
Summary: What I've always liked about the "Silent Hill" games is the eerie feeling they create. The characters you meet always seem off, like there's something brooding deep beneath the surface, a buried truth not yet revealed.
