Disappointing entry for the Silent Hill franchise

Chas Dehvul, Amazon

  • Summary: This is a disappointing game for the Silent Hill series. The game is buggy, the combat controls are frustrating and I think that Silent Hill: Homecoming was better.

VERY REPETITIVE FOES & BAD FIGHT CONTROLS

FILMCRITIC1987, Amazon
8 October 2013
  • Summary: The graphics in this game are really nice in my opinion The atmosphere is good and I like the way you open the doors with the sneak view. The puzzles are hard for me, and I had to look online for help. The controls when attacking and aiming really annoyed me, and the enemies are very repetitive.

Not as good As Homecomming!

Justin Babb, Amazon
1 May 2013
  • Summary: This game is not at all creepy. The story is kind of lacking depth. The combat is annoying as H.e.l.l. and the game is just all over the place buggy. Then what kept me coming back to the this game, because, i loved homecoming the story was amazing the ending was A little dark but overall it was...

Has Good and Bad elements in equal amounts. Very uneven experience.

  • Summary: I loved most of the silent hill games. This one was only ok to me due to how uneven it was. It hit some decent high notes with a new approach to the other world and exploration(not everyone will like it though).

Technical problems kill an otherwise solid game.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
2 May 2012
  • Summary: I'll start with what the game got right... 1. Scenery. The town has a good Silent Hill feel to it (though you'll never explore it at night, which is disappointing). But the roads which end in a sheer cliff are there, the houses with boarded up doors, random abandoned vehicles, all of that has the...

Good Game Lost in a Fog of Annoyances

Sean Wandersee, Amazon
22 March 2012
  • Summary: I am a long time fan of the original Silent Hill Quartet but lost interest in the series after Silent Hill 4. I have not played any the subsequent games: Origins, Homecoming, or Shattered Memories until Silent Hill Downpour.

The Good and the Bad -- For Silent Hill Fans

Sean C. Flynn "Horror Buff", Amazon
15 March 2012
  • Summary: Plenty of reviews on here already that cover much of what this game has to offer, so I think I will just keep it short and sweet with a "Good" and "Bad" list. This list is primarily for Silent Hill fans who are still debating about whether or not to pick up this chapter in the series.

Highly underrated, still lacking in certain areas

Joman1000 "Joman", Amazon
14 March 2012
  • Summary: Let me start by saying that I am a die-hard Silent Hill fan. I played the first game when it was released in 1999, which made me about 12 years old (my parents obviously made a very "wise" purchasing decision at the time) and bought every subsequent game (aside from the Japanese play novel and...

It could have been amazing

raven_guest "raven_guest", Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: There's something so much worse about a product with such potential that fails, rather than an outright bomb. This game could have been amazing and there are moments of brilliance, but they unfortunately never really develop properly. SPOILERS WILL NO DOUBT FOLLOW.
