Fantastic for fans, with its flaws
6 April 2014
Summary: So I owned this version on 360 few months ago after it came out and after I had maxed out the game with every achievement, the game became unplayable as in every time I did something that was an achievement, the game would freeze . So I decided to sell it and grab a copy of this version since Konami patched the ps3 game.
Summary: i got this after playing downpour. i kinda started the silent hill series backwards lol but this collection sold me! i love the story, its creepy weird and well made. although the game itself is a bit irritating because it makes you think lol and I'm not good with thinking of strategies to take down monsters or understand the kind of puzzles they have here but i made it through it. its a great game with silent hill 2+3.
Summary: For the most part, the issues I've seen listed about this game don't exist anymore. For the most part. The fog now exists as fog instead of a wall of gray, the water in the boat scene in Silent Hill 2 now looks less like aluminum foil, the voice acting is consistently along the video, and it generally looks better.
Summary: This is what I call a "good classic survial horror" a great game. In this compilation you get silent hill 2 and 3. you'll be solving puzzle, running from creatures that stir the night, and set of bosses to battle. I strongly reccomend this one. this has a good story, good game play, no regret on picking this up very happy.
Unforgivable Slowdowns and Freezes (UPDATED: Post-Patch)

Summary: UPDATED REVIEW (Post-Patch) --------------------------- Got the patch installed, and, IMHO, the game (Number 2, anyway) is very enjoyable to play again. VERDICT: If you were waiting (wisely) to buy this collection, now is the time! What I have seen fixed by this patch: -Fog is at the right levels, so scenery is no longer seen to just disappear in the distance. -James's breathing is back to what a human sounds like. <--This was extremely annoying.
Summary: By the time I was a Silent Hill fan, original copies of the PS2 games, collected here with the exception of Silent Hill 4, were nearly impossible to find. Though I did play Silent Hill 2 on the PC, and a tracked down a copy of 3 for my PS2, I never got around to finishing them. I was looking forward to this collection so that I would finally have a chance to play through these classics of survival horror, a genre that's more or less ceased to exist at this point.
Summary: Alot of reviews complaining about graphics here but ignoring the 'fog issues' which don't seem to happen on my version I'm quite enjoying playing the games and given I was in my early teens when the second one originally came out playing through again while actually understanding all the visual imagery used etc is giving me a fresh outlook on the game's story.
