Sega Rally PS3 - One of the finest racers in years!
17 July 2010
Excerpt: The Sega Rally series has long been providing petrol heads and casual gamers alike with quality titles usually found on Segas own systems. Since Sega quit the hardware market and began producing games across multi platforms previous series which have long been neglected were revived and thankfully the Sega Rally series has been one of those and that’s good news for us all!
Excerpt: Whether through the absence of a cockpit and pedals, or a failure to fully replicate the rush of speed, SEGA’s racing legends Outrun and SEGA Rally have never quite managed to repeat their arcade counterparts’ heroics on home consoles. 2008 saw a somewhat surprising HD rebirth for the latter, though the end result is once again something of a disappointment. It’s a case of style over substance; visually vibrant, with overly simple gameplay.
Pros: Sound handling, strong visuals, great cars, arcade accessibility
Cons: Shallow, lack of excitement, rubbish external view

Excerpt: Arcade racer, which can be fast and furious online and runs at a decent framerate, but seems to lock up frequently Voice didnt seem to work online either The tracks are very generic, the graphics are average, and where is the damage model???? We are supposed to be playing a next gen game. Come on Sega, how I long for the good old days.
Excerpt: This is one of the first games i got with my PS3 and i wasn't looking forward to it much due to the massive ammount of negative reviews i had read about it. I was pleasently surprised when it came to playing it however, the graphics are really good and still look just fine even now, there are many differnt game modes and the cars 'feel' just right in my opinion. I read some reviews stating that conering was impossible and it is, if you don't feel the need to brake.
Pros: Good graphics, fun arcade racing
Cons: no damage to cars, limited choice of cars/tracks
Excerpt: I used to play this on the Sega Dreamcast (shame they stopped making that console, it was superb). There was nothing better than hacking around the tracks with my mates. This version for the PS3 was just £17.99 when I purchased it and it offers 1-2 players split-screen. You can race up to six players online. It displays the graphics at up to 720P and is rated 6+. The graphics are pretty sharp on this one.
Excerpt: Everyone remembers this game at the arcades; the original Sega Rally arcade game was a revolution, as a child sitting in that bucket seat gripping the steering wheel like your life depended on it. So when I see this had been released you on the PS3 I immediately went out and bought it.
Excerpt: i got this gamewith my ps3 for my birthday a while ago and thought i should comment on it The graphics are good the user interface and menus are easy to use mainly due to the fact that there are not alot of menus to start with. There is a 2 player mode a challange mode and a few others. once you do the challanges you unlock cars and the next track. I have not got that far as unfortumately i get to bored.
Excerpt: I love this game. I played this game every night non stop for 2 weeks!! I couldn't get enough of it. The graphics were amazing, sound was brilliant and the gameplay is even better. First of all there's loads of game modes to choose from including single race, career and multiplayer which is great for when you have your friends over. As well as this a great range of cars to choose from and plenty of different tracks to master.
Pros: GREAT GAMEPLAY; GRAPHICS VERY GOOD
Cons: CAN GET A BIT REPETITIVE IF PLAYED FOR LONG TIME
Excerpt: I bought a Playstation 3 New Years Eve and had Sega Rally as a free game with it. I had Sega Rally on the Dreamcast so wanted this game for a while. You can play as one or two player (quite a few of the driving games are one player only, so this is an advantage). If you play as one player obviously you have the whole screen and you have a co-driver giving directions. In one player you can play; championship and win points to unlock other championships.
Pros: Two player game, good family game
Cons: Cars race off into the distance and trouble using second steering wheel
