Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game

Thunderbolt Games
14 September 2010
  • Excerpt: You might not take him for it at first glance but Scott Pilgrim is one bad dude. One day he’s browsing music with his girlfriend – Knives Chau, age 17 – and the next he’s fallen deeply in love with the mystery girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers. The only catch for Scott – other than having a girlfriend already – is that Ramona arrives with some hefty baggage, namely, her 7 Evil Ex-Boyfriends.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game

Hardcore Gamer
21 August 2010
  • Summary: The comic book series for Scott Pilgrim is, quite frankly, for us nerds. With video game references and homage’s abundant with an overall theme gamers would like, it is almost ironic that it has come full circle and become a gaming property itself. While the game is a tie in based on the movie, it is not one of them in the traditional sense From the first moment this game loads up you know that it was hand crafted and perfected by people who have only the utmost...

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game

Game Over Online
17 August 2010
  • Excerpt: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: the Game is quite a pleasant surprise. Not only is it a licensed game that does justice to its license, but it’s also a fantastic beat ’em up in the vein of the legendary River City Ransom for the NES with one of the best soundtracks out there. Like the graphic novel and the film, the title character is out to win Ramona’s heart - in order to do so, you’ll have to defeat seven evil exes.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World Review

ME Gamers
16 August 2010
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is While Scott Pilgrim vs The World is not the type of movie you’d expect to get a game, the game itself is not the your average movie-video game tie-in. Don’t expect to see polygon character models likened to Michael Cera and co, as the game is based on the graphic novel and is perhaps one part movie marketing tool and two parts homage to old school gaming.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game

  • Excerpt: An odd case of art imitating art, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a side-scrolling beat 'em up set in Toronto, based on a comic book beat 'em up set in Toronto, now a movie beat 'em up set in Toronto, too.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Review

AusGamers
24 August 2010
  • Conclusion: There are a couple of noticeable drawbacks, however. If you want to play with someone else (and you will), you have to be in the same room as them (thanks to the lack of online play) and you'll have to both decide you want a game at the beginning of the level (thanks to the lack of drop-in/drop-out co-op). While this prevented me from fully exploring the teamwork element of the game, it does add a certain atmosphere.
  • Pros: The artwork, The soundtrack, The vibe, man!
  • Cons: A handful of bugs, Lack of drop-in / drop-out co-op, Sore thumbs!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game

UOL Jogos
11 August 2010
  • Conclusion: A Ubisoft acertou em cheio. "Scott Pilgrim" é uma das melhores surpresas dentre os jogos lançados unicamente para download nos últimos tempos. Os produtores tiveram um cuidado incrível na produção em estilo retrô, de forma que a escolha do estilo clássico não afetasse a experiência para jogadores mais novos.
