Saints Row IV

Game Over Online
26 August 2013
  • Excerpt: Like the Third Street Saints themselves, the Saints Row series has graduated from a humble beginning into a monstrous entity that doesn’t so much “take over” the world as infect it with its unstoppable hubris. The original Saints Row title started out as a GTA clone, and a damned fine one at that.

We’re Just Along For The Ride

TotalPlayStation.com

  • Conclusion: Saints Row IV is a video game unlike any you've played before with a rich story, sharp sense of humor and unique mechanics. It's only held back by a lack of variety and the need for a bit more polish.

Saints Row IV Review: The parody of a generation

PlayStation Universe
14 August 2013
  • Summary: Saints Row IV isn't the "Game of the Generation," but its best moments are more fun than almost everything else on PS3.
  • Pros: Superpowers are irresponsibly fun, Laugh-out-loud from start to finish, Meaningful upgrades
  • Cons: Hit-or-miss Activities, Freezes and framerate, Half of this game is Saints Row: The Third

Saints Row IV

Digital Chumps
14 August 2013
  • Conclusion: All in all, this is a release most Saints fans will praise for its commitment to crazy. I mean, the leader of the free world is also the head of a huge crime organization. That should tell you all you need to know about how Volition wants to produce games.

Expert Review

GameSpot
14 August 2013
  • Summary: After Saints Row: The Third , it was hard to imagine how this series of increasingly zany open-world crime games could possibly get any zanier. Rather than attempting to tackle that challenge head-on, Saints Row IV sidesteps it by being an almost completely different type of open-world game.
  • Pros: Fun movement and combat abilities, Wild story missions, Some very funny writing
  • Cons: Combat grows dull despite your varied powers, Monotonous setting
