  • Summary: Welcome to Stilwater. Don't let the deceptively tranquil name fool you, this is one of the most outrageous and incident packed metropolises in gaming.

Saints Row 2 Review

PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: Saints Row 2 isn’t Grand Theft Auto, but that's a good thing. With strong replayability and wacky mini-games, the game will remain relevant for months down the road.
  • Pros: Brilliant online co-op, Excellent character customization, Mini-games keep you coming back for more
  • Cons: Disappointing friendly AI, Framerate hiccups and poor collision detection, Random freezing problems

  • Summary: Who needs realism? It's hard not to imagine those three words guiding the development of Saints Row 2, which proves itself as one of the most ridiculous, stupid, laugh out loud, and fun game experiences you're likely to find this year. Big explosions, unbelievable gunfights, samurai sword duels that show up out of nowhere, even the option to streak the city streets ? here is a title unafraid to embrace its own bombastic silliness and play it up to the nth degree.

Saints Row 2 (PS3) Review

411mania.com
4 February 2009
  • Excerpt: The Saints are coming the Saints are coming. The Saints have returned. In 2006, THQ released the original Saints Row exclusively on the XBOX 360. It was dubbed as the “Grand Theft Auto Killer.” However, that did not end up being the case, not even close in my eyes. But to be fair, it had a few interesting missions to separate it from GTA (Insurance Fraud anyone).

  • Excerpt: (the original game) all over again. Play another four hours and it becomes apparent that this has been fine tuned to very nearly reaching perfection. So, have they gone the GTA4 way? Nope, they don’t seem really worried about what Rockstar is up to as they are pimping a different brand of chaos.

Saints Row 2

GameTrailers

  • Excerpt: As the old adage goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that's to be believed, then the level of Saints Row 2's praise approaches that of adoring adulation. Its object of affection, of course, is the Grand Theft Auto series, particularly Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. There are more similarities between the two than differences, which could be viewed as highly positive or distressingly negative.

Saints Row 2

ME Gamers
28 October 2008
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is The first Saints Row was a pretty solid title. Many people had hoped the game would turn out to be the next generation GTA, but at the end of the day it failed to reach such heights. Enter Saints Row 2, a gangster’s paradise videogame based in an open world bursting with crime and corruption. That might sound a bit too similar to the GTA series in general and GTA IV specifically.
