Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2, often referred to as SR2, is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game that was designed and developed by Illinois’ Volition, Inc. It was published by California’s THQ and it was released on October 14, 2008 in North America. Apart from the Sony Playstation 3, the game is also available for the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. There is also a mobile phone version of the game.

The game is the official sequel to Saints Row and takes place 5 years after the events in the original game. It is set in Stillwater, a fictional city modeled heavily on Detroit and Chicago. There, players take on the role of the leader of a gang who wakes up from a trauma-induced coma in a prison hospital. The character escapes from the prison island and rejoins his gang, the 3rd Street Saints. While the main character was in prison, the gang had apparently fallen apart. Three new gangs and a conglomerate known as the Ultor Corporation have risen to power. The player must then do whatever it takes to protect the members of his gang and allow the 3rd Street Saints to become powerful once more.

Players of Saints Row 2 can customize their character’s appearance not only in terms of clothing but also in terms of age, weight, and gender. The character’s voice, walk, taunts, facial expressions, and fighting style can also be modified.

In the game, players can move around by walking, running, climbing, swimming, and control a number of vehicles including some that are air-based. Players can also make use of a variety of weapons as well as engage in hand-to-hand combat.

Saints Row offers a online modes where multiple players can engage in “Gangsta Brawl,” “Team Gangsta Brawl,” and “Strong Arm.”
