Conclusion: As RPGs go, Sacred 2 is likeable enough, but as a console game it doesn’t quite gel. It’s an admirable adaptation, and the menu pages that you navigate through using the triggers work really well, as does the combat, which has been ported perfectly to the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers. Our only misgiving is the severe lack of personality and character, which ultimately leaves the game devoid of any real propulsion to its action and that just leaves us feeling a little bit...
Excerpt: I have to say, without a doubt the worst aspect of this generation has so far been the utter lack of quality RPGs, both the Western kind and Japanese kind. The list of traditional RPGs available for the PlayStation 3 is slim to none, and the future doesn't hold much in store, aside from a game or two. With that said, games like Sacred 2, while not traditional, do appease a number of RPG fans, even if it's for a short time.
Excerpt: Dungeon crawlers are something of a rare breed these days, but that didn't stop German studio Ascaron from pumping out a follow-up to 2004's Sacred. An action-RPG originally conceived for the PC, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is aiming to amass a new set of converts on the consoles. But if uninspired gameplay and a severely unpolished exterior are fearful premonitions to look out for, then take heed: this sloppy port provides a less-than-heavenly experience.
Hakkende grafik. Musik der stikker i alle retninger.
