good concept to teach guitar

jeannie, Amazon
26 December 2014
  • Summary: It's a cool concept but my son was mildly interested in it. He tried it a few times but hasn't touched it since. It shows you what strings to play at what times and could be very useful to teach maybe he was just too young, 12 years old.

it's just a game

Albino, Amazon
29 November 2014
  • Summary: Pro: it's for PS3. con: doesn't pick up on all the frets. no cable Other thoughts:while this is one of the best games for learning the guitar, it doesn't work quite right all the time. while playing the game you are supposed to hit the correct fret and strum the correct string.

Great Game

Maurice, Amazon
7 April 2014
  • Summary: I Purchased Rocksmith 2013 in the hopes of getting back into playing the bass guitar, after not playing for 32 yrs. Rocksmith 2013 got me back on track of wanting to play again. the only downside is, I wanted to play the old school pop and funk. If you are a fan of Rock and Roll this is the BEST!!!

Real Tone Cable No good in game

Darrell Wagoner, Amazon
27 February 2014
  • Summary: Got the game and the real tone cable in the game didn't even work so I had to order a cable which cost almost as much as the game did so I just think people that sell things should know that the Items work as they should before they sell them the game works fine but like I said I had to put like $80...

Mixed feelings on this game.

Scott, Amazon
23 October 2013
  • Summary: I am a 100% newbie when it comes to the guitar so this game is a little challenging/frustrating to me. The songs cater to your skill level but don't really teach you how to play.

Nice try

Michael P. Bobbitt, Amazon
22 July 2013
  • Summary: The song selection is kind of poor and the execution isn't that great. I haven't figured out a way to replay a song as the same skill level. It seems like if you get a passable score it bumps you up to the next difficulty level. I'd like a chance to ace the easier levels before making things harder.

Not bad

ATX, Amazon
4 June 2012
  • Summary: I have tinkered with the guitar for years but have never really improved. This game looked really fun in the advertising video. I'm sure my playing will improve but my complaint on it is having to tune before every song. The action on my guitar is set up so it's a drag to have to pause each time.

Good game, but has been improved.

troy schwartz, Amazon
30 May 2012
  • Summary: Good game, very under developed though. I'd recommend the sequel. the Port-over of songs from game to game is only $9.99, and you can download and play RS 2011 songs in the 2014 version. Also, if you use an HDMI, you should pick up an AV cable to plug into your T.V, lag will be noticeably reduced.

Overall not bad, however a frustrating UI and career mode reduces the total experience

A. Eng, Amazon
30 May 2012
  • Summary: A disclaimer right off the bat is that I've played a reasonable amount of guitar. I'm not happy with where my skills are, but I'm certainly not new to the instrument, and maybe not the target audience of this game.

Get Rocksmith 2014. It's what this was supposed to be.

Yes, Amazon
30 May 2012
  • Summary: Get Rocksmith 2014. The UI is wonky and feels like an afterthought. I am impressed however by the system they created. Get Rocksmith 2014 though. It's well worth the extra cash. This one does not do the Rocksmith's team justice.
