Summary: I really debated on getting this game because I was afraid that I would get it, play through a few songs a bunch of times, struggle and lose interest. This is not the case. The first song I played was Knights of Cydonia and I am completely new to guitar but from the sound of the song it seems like a pretty advanced guitar song to start on.
Good for beginners, bad for experienced guitarists

Summary: I have been playing guitar for about 8 years. I figured I would give this game a try and see how it works. I noticed there is a slight lag between when you strum your guitar and when the note registers with the game. While beginners might not notice this. The further you progress through the game the more noticeable it becomes. Making difficult/fast riffs near impossible to play seamlessly.
Summary: I haven't played much rythm games in the past. I've played rock band, dance dance revolution, and compared to those I gotta say this is probably the best by far. The best buy version is awesome because it comes with the cable and the price is fairly good. I don't have an electric guitar but I have a Yamaha plug in acoustic guitar and that's what I am using to play this game. I've been playing guitar on and off since I was a teen.
Summary: This game should come with an addiction warning. It is a blast. I'm just learning (working my way through guitar lessons) and this game reinforces everything I'm learning. The best part is that you learn techniques and practice without realizing it. It seems like you are just playing games until you try playing a song and realize that you've been learning all along. You get to track your progress and see how much you've improved, all while using your REAL guitar.
Summary: this video game gives you everything you need to be a better electric guitar player. it is stimulating, gratifying and you will be better at playing after only a few sessions (for the beginners).
