Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars

Strategy Informer
6 October 2011
  • Conclusion: Priced at Ł7.99 (around $10), you could definitely do worse than this game. What you’ll get is a stylish, unsoiled, entertaining blast for you buck. If you’ve got friends who enjoy such a hysterically engaging formula, then you’ll definitely get your money's worth. Hopefully the developers will iron out a few creases and add some bulk to the game before returning with the inevitable and equally as quirky Super Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars 2 sometime not too far...

Expert Review

GameSpot
24 September 2009
  • Summary: There are plenty of wacky racing games available on the PlayStation Store, but none have been combined with soccer-themed combat. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars blazes new territory and lets you play a variation of soccer with up to eight remote-controlled cars simultaneously. While the game looks great and is fun to play at times, its limited appeal makes it a questionable value proposition.
  • Pros: Gameplay is fun and frantic, Rocket boosters let you pull off some crazy moves, Can export replays to YouTube
  • Cons: Novelty wears off after a few hours, Lacking in variety of modes, maps, and match options, Playing soccer with cars isn't all that fun

Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars

Playstation Illustrated
6 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars is easily one of the most needlessly long titles for a videogame since 2006's Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army . However, that's absolutely alright as long as the game bearing the title is fun. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars is indeed fun, but it rarely feels like anything more than a quick diversion.

Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars

Digital Chumps
18 October 2008
  • Conclusion: Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars is well worth checking out, but take advantage of the demo first. At $15, it's too much to recommend for outright purchase, but hopefully this review and others, as well as the demo, can help steer you in the right direction. Consider checking out Gripshift on the PSN, too.

Baseball Mogul 2007 Review

AtomicGamer
4 May 2006
  • Excerpt: Baseball is a deep, deep game. On the outside, it looks like it isn't much more than one guy throwing a ball and someone else swinging at it. If it gets hit, some guy in the grass area chases after it and tries to catch it. If he does this three times, he even gets a chance to hit the ball! Of course, there is far more to the game than that overly simplified description. Most of the video games available strike a balance between simulation and arcade-like action.

Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars Review

WDT
31 December 2008
  • Excerpt: Ever since that Top Gear episode where Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson were playing football with Toyota Aygo cars, it had me thinking. Wouldn’t it be cool to play football with cars? Now, in terms of videogames it’s something that has been done before, via mini games in a few ridiculously bad shovel ware games, Penny Racer comes to mind.
