Summary: It is a challenging game that my wife and I have fun playing. We don't like many if the song that come with Rock Band 1 and will be getting a newer version of the game soon. Getting all the instuments make this package a good deal. They can be used with all the versions and was alot cheaper to buy the pack than get them individually. I recommend Rock Band to everyone for a great party game or a game you can play with your wife, especially if she is not a gamer like mine.
Summary: Let's get right down to the basics. If you are familiar with Guitar Hero, this is pretty much the same thing with an expanded play set that includes vocals and drums. Vocals are similar to the Karoke games and do require an ability to sing on key. If you like Guitar Hero and/or Karoke Revolution, you will like this game. That said, I will get on to the product advisory. 1.) The set list is HUGE.
Summary: I, like most fans of the Guitar Hero series, have been anticipating the arrival of this game since I first learned of its development back in July. When I first saw the photos of the guitar controller I became ecstatic. It looked like the guitar controller I have always wanted since I actually own a real Stratocaster made to the Eric Clapton "Blackie" design. The controller looks almost exactly like my real guitar!
Summary: This would be a great game, but we found so many flaws in just the first few hours playing it, they overwhelmed any fun we had. First, the instructions are so poorly written they are useless, and we spent the first few hours just trying to figure out how to navigate the menus. As others note, the guitar controller is horrendous, so I won't belabor that point. The microphone sent with the game did not function at all and we will have to replace it.
Summary: Ok...Bought this after I bought Guitar Hero 3 and I was a little disappointed about Rock Band....One might think that after spending 169.00 plus to get this game that 'EVERYONE" wants and then find out it doesn't all work!!! I'm giving this a 5 star just because it looks like it will be a blast to really play and all if we can get a set that will actually work..meaning the 'DRUMS'!!!! Got everything plugged in, put together and then ready for the drums.
Summary: Rock band is a great improvement over Guitar Hero games. It is fun to play however the controllers do not quite meet the expectations and can take away from your overall fun factor. My drum set had a faulty pad right out of the box and had to wait 2 weeks to get the replacement. The online replacement procedure was very simple and quick yet was too good to be true as seen in the result. Guitar controller looks and feels great, hope it does not die on me soon.
Excerpt: Note: I am reviewing the complete band version, but if you see it sold Solus like this price is for, and you have the Guitar Hero instruments, they are compatible and it is worth picking up! Rock Band jumps firmly on the Guitar Hero bandwagon, and on the surface there aren't many differences between the two. At the time Rock Band was the first to do the drum kit and microphone, but now GH has done that (and better with symbols on the drum kit too!
"Some great songs, but not as good as Rock Band 2"

Summary: I really like some of the songs on this, especially Ruby by the Kaiser
Chiefs, Let's Dance by Bowie, You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi and Free
Falling by Tom Petty. The Lego aspect doesn't make a big difference to the game because you're not
building things. The cut scenes aren't as funny or interesting as the ones in
Lego Batman and it sucks that you have to pay for things you've unlocked during
