Summary: There is a never-ending sense of frustration about why the epic Greek myths seem to flop as either movies or video games. It certainly can't be the source material. The myths, heroes, adventures, and tales from ancient Greece are filled with blood, lust, greed, violence, pathos, struggle, vengeance, deceit, heroism, and more. The stories soar and keep you in their grip long after they are finished.
Summary: Ever wonder what God of War would have been like if Nintendo made it? You'd get something like Rise of the Argonauts. This game feels like 70 percent The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and 30 percent is a PG-13-rated version of God of War. There is some blood and dismemberment. This is not a bad thing. It is just how I perceive the overall feeling of this game.
Pros: The sharp image quality is one of the first things you notice. Beautiful colors and scenary. The story line is easy to follow with a little history about Jason and his crew, as you play along. I give it + 5pts.
Cons: About 50-55% of game is dialog. Sometimes, if you've been killed, you'd have to go through a series of dialogs to get back to the fight scene. Compared to GOW or Assasin's Creed, this is an average game. At $56, it's quite pricy too. i give -2 pts.
Summary: I waited many months for this release and had watched every trailer and/or sneak-peek video I could get my hands on. One video I watched was a 10-minute presentation from the actual developer who spoke of the different worlds and different characters to play and showed battles and cut scenes that never made it to the final game (apparently) and he spoke about returning to each continent and re-exploring, new things to find, etc. NONE of which is in this game.
Conclusion: This game was a dissapointment it looks to chunky in places and for this type of console it just didnt look good enough, also looks like jasons beard and moustache were drawn on as an afterthought
Conclusion: As far as graphics go I was surprised. The gameplay I also enjoyed even if most of it was dialogue based. However the game is remarkably shorter than I thought (although still capable to last a day at least) and for those who chase trophies, this was before they were existent.
Conclusion: Let me start by saying that some of the reviews on here are a little harsh... To be honest there are a few things about this game that will annoy you... Firstly the graphics are the first thing you notice... They're not great... From the PS3 you can now expect a very nicely polished game and this doesn't look anywhere near as good as it probably should... Especially alongside the likes of Killzone 2 (for example)... This, in my opinion, doesn't really spoil the game.
Excerpt: Bit disappointing really. I was hoping for a good RPG set in the ancient times, but unfortunately it was all a bit boring. Decent enough graphics, but too much running back and forth from location to location for my liking.
Excerpt: You play the game as the the famous hero king jason you and your crew which can have such heros as Hercules, Achilles, Perseus and Atalanta must search for the magical golden fleece. The action-Rpg style means you'll be talking to greeks not just choping them up. Mastering both is important to your progress. Engaging in the branching dialogues and god of war-inspired combat will appease the various greek gods.
