Rio: Good in small doses, loses value in the long run

J. Cummings "Somewhere in PS2 land", Amazon
30 August 2012
  • Summary: Some games (like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Phineas & Ferb 2nd Dimension) do a great job of capturing the essence of the movies/shows and make for a really fun game to play through. Rio possesses some of those elements, but after you've went through the 100 or so minigames, which can be played in a lot of different modes (Party, Story, Quiz, etc.) there isn't really anything else to do save to try for the various trophies.

RIO, a party game without any party feel.

A+, amazon.co.uk
22 August 2011
  • Summary: Rio seems very fun for the first 10 minutes until you realise that most of the minigames inside are recycled as much as upto 5 times , so the game might have 50 minigames but really its not more like 20. The game is pretty well made but its one of thoose wii type of games that you play for one night and then never look back at it again. Trophy hunters will love this game as its an really easy platinum.

A hark back to old party games

S. Smith "sitorimon", amazon.co.uk
20 May 2011
  • Summary: Rio's a local only multiplayer mini game set. You pick from 6 birds and play around 30 mini games. The games are over pretty quickly and the games fun to play in short bursts. It does lose its shine over time however as some of the games are very similar and so many involve either collecting fruit, firing fruit or doing some rhythm action games, it feels a little thinly spread. The games are very easy to pick up and play though - good for the little ones!

Gut.

mkmc, Amazon
25 September 2011

Udo Erhart "udoerhart", Amazon
13 April 2011
