Summary: I loathed the Ridge Racer series from the very beginning. To me they all represented the most basic "go forward and turn corners" nature of racing games, they were all so linear and plain. Recently I was so bored and desperate for a decent racing game that I took a chance on Ridge Racer Unbounded and was pleasantly surprised that it is a deviation from the formula and comes across as more of a cross between Burnout Paradise and Motorstorm Apocalypse .
Summary: I have enjoyed this game a lot, but it is very difficult. I do have experience with arcade racing (previous Ridge Racer game is one of my favorites) but it seems like for Namco, fun means frustration. Seriously, I play games to relax, not to get more stress... that does not mean that I do not like challenging games, but challenging does not mean frustrating.
Interesting idea but there's better racers out there

Summary: This is the first Ridge Racer game I've ever actually played. It looked pretty interesting from the trailers so I decided to pick it up when a copy finally arrived at my local Best Buy 5 days after it was supposed to be out (Gamestop, Amazon and every other outlet seems to have also gotten the ps3 copies late). The game features destructible environment pieces scattered around the track that can either serve as shortcuts or means to wreck racers surrounding you.
Summary: Beware !!! I got a limited edition from UK. The game is working fine, but the code included with the limited edition won't work at all to download the DLC on the PSN in USA or Canada. This is a way to do things coming from SONY. If you import games from japan or EU for the PS3, the DLC coming from the PSN of America won't work... Keep your hard earn money !!!
