Summary: I purchased this game because, I had purchased the Ridge Racer Unbounded so I thought it was gonna be cool, not as good as the Unbounded but good enough. However, when I opened up the game and played it, I got disappointed. When you see the intro, the game looks amazing but, when you actually start playing, it is not entertaining at all. The game is so so so easy than even i if you try to crash, the cars refused to do it. No matter how hard you try, I will never crash.
Summary: dont buy it. it sucks. its a bit too late to do a refund now tho, oh well, something to keep some kids entertained. If you like these ridge racer games, go for it, I just dont like the set up and whatnot
Summary: I bought this game because I thought I was going to be able to get a 3D upgrade patch. I buy a lot of 3D games. But, there is no update for a disc game. If you want the 3D version you have to pay $19.99 at the playstation store for the whole game. There is no other option if you want that version. Very disappointing.
Summary: I dont really like it. Its ok but you drift threw the city meaning all you do is slide your car threw curves to get a octane boost!! Besides that to me its like and arcade game my son did not like it either so maybe someone else likes this game I am sure they have some but for me it does nothing!! Sorry you need to look at the ratings and read first before you buy maybe if I play a little more it may get better but from first playing it not good to me.
Summary: This is probably the worst racing game I've ever played. I can't get the car to go around corners without spinning all the way around two or three times. I read the manual to try to figure out what I'm doing wrong (that in itself is a bad sign, you shouldn't have to read the manual just to figure out how to play a game) and the instructions on how to drift are really basic. The instructions are: 1. Turn into the corner 2. Let off the gas 3. Turn through the corner.
Summary: If you want something that is realistic, do not buy this game. I play Motorstorm frequently, and am a big fan of the Gran Turismo series. I love racing games. This was just a lot of weird drifting. Personally, I hated it.
Excerpt: I bought ridge racer 7 with my PS3 as I from previous experience ridge racer has been a great game. After setting up the PS3 and placed ridge racer in and was excited to play. Started playing and came to realise that this is not like the old games, everything has been changed and I hated it. You no longer drive normally you have to use drift to turn, if I wanted a drifting game then I would have bought one but not ridge racer.
Excerpt: What rubbish! I ordered my PS3 with Ridge Racer and Lair, I rushed to the door, set up the PS3, put in ridge racer and the smile of excitment was wiped from my face ... I would be disappointed to have played this in an arcade. It features a small selection of cars which dont actually exist and look terrible, when i got to driving the cars i found that the game wanted me to drift around each corner - No not turn ... drift!
It might be shiny, but there's a reason it's cheap...

Conclusion: Arcade racers are primarily aimed at over-caffeinated eight year olds, and if that's you then RR7 will tick all the right boxes. I appreciate that driving something here bears absolutely no relation to driving in the real world. But that's the point - when I'm driving something, I expect to be able to predict what it's going to do, rather than having it arbitrarily clunk against the often invisible limits of where the programmers decided the car would be allowed to...
