Summary: UPDATE REVIEW after just finishing the campaign: Awesome Game! The 3D is amazing. Tough, but fun as can be. Too bad about the install issues I listed in the original review. This woulda been a 4 or 5 star rating for the campaign play. Original review: I needed to get this review up right away to hopefully save others great frustration. Before you put the disc in your PS3 for the first time, disconnect from the Internet and DO NOT do the update.
Summary: I really expected more from this series. I don't know why I couldn't get into it. I loved Gears of War, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. But, this just didn't pull me in. The story was nice and carried over well into 2. It just wasn't my cup of tea. For reference, I didn't enjoy Halo either. I know, I know, I should hang my head in shame and retire my consoles.
Summary: I remember these games were groundbreaking and amazing when they came out. However, time has not been kind to them. There were strange segments of platforming that seemed very forced and could have been omitted. As well, having monsters that you cannot kill is pretty lame. The graphics hold up well and so does the sound design. The weapons were pretty fun. Overall game play and level design is just dated. It is still very much worth playing.
Summary: Should have just gotten the game and not the "doomsday edition". I'm not having any fun with this silly gun. The game , by itself , rocks! It's alotta fun! Hopefully I'll find a fun shooting game to enjoy the gun with , but I'm reviewing the set as a whole and I find the gun worthless with this game.
Summary: I was looking into purchasing this bundle, but then discovered a cheaper bundle with even more content. PlayStation Move Mayhem Bundle You still get everything this bundle has to offer, but you will get "Killzone 3" as well.. and it's cheaper. I'm not sure why this is the way it is, but I thought I would pass along this information.
Summary: Resistance 3 is another fantastic entry in its series. Graphics, sound, gameplay are all exceptional...with the PS3 controller. That said, I bought this edition in order to gain the advantage of the Move Sharpshooter. Sorely disappointed. After calibrating several times I still could not seem to get the aiming to match up the way I believe it should be. Not sure if this is a hardware or software fault as this is the only Move title I own.
Summary: The sharpshooter is, at least at this point, a TOTAL waste of money. Unless they release some sort of patch for the SharpShooter, it's totally unusable. The gun has to be constantly recalibrated, and i mean CONSTANTLY. As in every few minutes. Plus it's awkward to use. Removing the Move controls from the SharpShooter produces a MUCH, MUCH better experience.
Summary: Right off the bat I will be honest and say I have not played the game much yet... But that is only because how much of a turn-off playing it with the PS Move was. And after all, the PS Move is a great part of this bundle, in fact, the reason why I bought this bundle. PS Move was easy to set up, but I wish they had included at least 1 USB cable to charge the controllers.
