Reviews and Problems with Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

A decent Ratchet & Clank game that feels very rushed developmentally

Summary: As fun as it is to play Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time; I had a constant nagging feeling that the developers didn't flesh out this game entirely. Then I reached the Insomniac Museum (opened after fighting an extra boss battle), and basically it's the developers apologizing for not having enough time to put everything in. "I KNEW IT!" Here's why I say that. From the beginning I could tell that there was something not quite right about the game.
Summary: This is the second one of these I have had to buy. My first one failed after more than a year of use and I contacted Sony to try to get a replacement. They absolutely refused to do anything at all without a receipt. Who keeps receipts for all their software purchases??? I sure don't.... unless it is a multi-hundred dollar item and maybe not even then.
Summary: The Ratchet & Clank series, if this really is the last one, ends badly. Not that the story line is bad but the gameplay just doesn't have the excitement the others had! they just phoned this one in without a lot of thought IMO.
Summary: I am a casual gamer, having played and enjoyed all the previous Ratchet games for the PS2. "Tools of Destruction" and "Crack in Time" were the 1st games I bought for the PS3 we got for Christmas this year. I was not disappointed with "Tools of Destruction", great game. I can't say the same about "Crack in Time". The main problem I had was the Clank episodes. They were frustrating, tedious and boring.
is fine enough but the series is running out of ideas

Summary: The graphics are just great, so no complaints there whatsoever. This time the game feels a bit short and it is way too easy on the first play through. The Clank levels are great to look at but tedious -- I have to confess I didnt enjoy them at all. I might have had a different opinion if I could increase the difficulty level but you cannot. You have to play once and then play again from the start. Bottom line -- Wait for a budget price before you buy.
Summary: As a longtime fan of the Ratchet & Clank games on the PlayStation, I have to say that I am quite disappointed in this second R&C PS3 game. The R&C games have always been above all easy to pick up and fun to play. Intuitive in the extreme. This latest installment is WAY too complicated. The story is too intricate, the new weapons and procedures are too difficult, and even the space navigation system is overly fussy and complex.
Summary: All fans of Ratchet and Clank will most likely like this game. It unveals an interesting connection to the rest of the Ratchet and Clank Future saga. Ratchet discovers truth that he is not the last lombax living, and also endures on his quest to save his best friend, Clank. With the help of new friends and gadgets, such as the hoverboots, Ratchet soars with faster speed.
Pros: good story, great details, excellent graphics!
Summary: A great platformer that requires you to jump, shoot, and solve simple puzzles. I have been a fan of the series since the first game and I have loved the variety of weapons and the great controls. I have not liked that some levels feel sparsely populated.
Pros: The graphics are great as are the platforming and shooting elements.
Cons: Sometimes the pacing of the game feels slow.
