Puzzle Quest: Galactrix

Playstation Illustrated
14 August 2009
  • Excerpt: Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is the next step in the Bejeweled -style RPG game that came out a few years back. Everything about Galactrix is 2D goodness, just like the previous Puzzle Quest adventure. The battle screens look like they could be a puzzle game found on MSN or Yahoo Games, while the story-advancing cutscenes use nice looking static character models with word bubbles and detailed backdrops. The last type of screen the game presents is the Galactic Map.

Addiction of Galactic Proportions

28 June 2009
  • Conclusion: Not quite as addictive as the original, no, but Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is indeed a massive time sink. If you were hooked by the first game, you'll blow dozens of hours on this one before interest starts to wane.

Expert Review

26 June 2009
  • Summary: So... I really enjoyed Puzzle Quest when I played it for the Nintendo DS, enjoyed it enough to complete it, and then buy it again later on Xbox Live. The game did a great job of turning Bejeweled on its head, and let's be honest, the original Puzzle Quest was Bejeweled with an RPG tacked on. Galactrix and D3 Publisher have tried to take that first game and improve upon it, and release it for every console under the sun.
