Pure is an off-road, trick-racing video game that was developed by Black Rock Studio, the game developer formerly known as Climax Racing. This game developer is known for its previous games under the Moto GP and ATV Offroad Fury franchises.

This racing game was published by the Disney Interactive Studios. It was announced on February 14, 2008 and was released in North America on September 16, 2008 across multiple platforms. Apart from the Sony Playstation 3, Pure is also available for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360.

The game offers its players 30 different race tracks set in different parts of the globe. Among the featured locations are New Mexico, Wyoming, Italy, Ocotillo Wells, Glamis, New Zealand, and Thailand.

Players of Pure can perform up to 80 different tricks that progress from Basic to Pro. There are also special tricks that are unique to each character. ATVs within the game are highly customizable. Players can choose from over 65,000 possible combinations of parts, paint jobs, and graphic packs.

Pure can be played in different modes. This includes the race mode, the sprint mode, and the freestyle mode. Apart from this, it offers an online multiplayer mode which can be played by up to 16 players.

Accolades

Pure was awarded the title “Best Racing Game of E3 2008” by the Game Critics Awards at E3 2008. It has also been given the Editors’ Choice Award by the Official Xbox Magazine (US). Apart from this, the game has been recognized as the “Best Driving Game” by GameTrailers.com and the “Best Racing Game on Xbox 360” by IGN.
