Pixeljunk Shooter 2

Destructoid
4 July 2011
  • Summary: My relationship with Q-Games and their wonderful PixelJunk series of downloadable games has followed a very similar path to that of courting a real-life future companion. After their first PixelJunk game, Racers , I felt something. It wasn’t infatuation -- more of a friend crush -- but I knew I liked being in their company. Next, with Monsters , I started feeling pretty hot. I was completely turned on.

PixelJunk Shooter 2

Playstation Illustrated
13 May 2011
  • Excerpt: PixelJunk Shooter 2 forgoes polygons in favor of solid colors and mesmerizing fluid physics. It looks like a Flash game with a high budget, and that's exactly the right look for this title. Everything looks simple, yet the style pops in its own special way. The artists and level designers clearly worked with each other every step of the way, and as a result, PixelJunk Shooter 2 looks clean and confident from beginning to end.

PixelJunk Shooter 2

Square-Go
30 April 2011
  • Excerpt: At the risk of sounding like a broken record , the PixelJunk series looks pixel perfect all the time: No exceptions. It’s almost boring to fire up PixelJunk Shooter 2 to discover that, yup, this too has the series’ trademark pristine visual quality. ‘Clarity’ is the word that seems most apt, since it’s as much well-designed mechanics that make the game shine as its art. That this console generation has an odd idea of HD makes Q-Games’ creations all the more notable.

Pixeljunk Shooter 2 (PS3) - Review

VGChartz
12 March 2011
  • Excerpt: Pixeljunk Shooter’s fluid dynamics were something to behold. Focusing a game not just on how liquid flows, but also on how different substances interact with each other is an interesting concept, but the game spent so long introducing each liquid that it only achieved a reasonable level of difficulty near the end, right before the obvious cliffhanger ending. Q-Games are giving the series another shot with Shooter 2.
