Payday 2

Destructoid
27 August 2013
  • Summary: Nobody could ever claim PAYDAY: The Heist wasn't a good idea. Tapping into every human's secret desire to be part of a beautifully orchestrated, flamboyantly daring theft of grand proportions was a masterstroke, and while the execution was spotty, the overall result was a ton of fun. Overkill is having a second crack of the whip with PAYDAY 2 , clutching its clever idea jealously while surrounding it with much more content.

Expert Review

GameSpot
23 August 2013
  • Summary: In crime, as in game development, things don't always go as planned. A suspicious passerby might call the cops in early, and then those cops might phase through a wall. The loot you expect to find might not be there, and the end-of-heist reward you're hoping for might never arrive. Civilians might try to flee in the middle of a firefight, or they might disappear through the floor.
  • Pros: Captures the drama and satisfaction of daring heists, New skills enable new tactics, Element of randomness keeps you on your toes
  • Cons: Some randomness is due to bugs, Reward pipeline is problematic, Friendly AI is all but useless

Payday 2 Review: The ultimate heist

PlayStation Universe
22 August 2013
  • Summary: Payday 2 is a step in the right direction for co-op action still throttled by lame single-player and an annoying unlock system.
  • Pros: Amazing co-op experience, Dynamically changing heists, Stealth
  • Cons: Questionable AI, bad single-player execution, Annoying loot system, Difficulty purchasing much-needed attachments

PAYDAY 2

GameTrailers
13 August 2013
  • Excerpt: Payday 2 may look a little like its Left 4 Dead-inspired predecessor when viewed from afar, but there's a pleasingly improved if familiar experience waiting under the franchise's new mask. Before, we were working with rookies who approached every heist with guns blazing. Now, we now have the opportunity to work as experience-hardened masterminds who value stealth over cocky presumption.

Payday 2: review

Critical Gamer
20 August 2013
  • Excerpt: Payday: The Heist was the first game to really capture the feeling of a daring bank raid, but was quickly met with comparisons with Left 4 Dead, thanks to its horde-slaughtering gameplay. Payday 2 still sees you and three comrades shooting and looting, but the variety has spiked through the roof and skewered a passing eagle. It’s clear that Overkill has taken what worked and then drastically fleshed out ideas that were only hinted at in the original.

  • Conclusion: Despite it's minor issues with AI, this is a triumphant successor to an under-appreciated gem. A definite must-own for fans of the original.

Payday 2

Gamereactor
13 August 2013
  • Conclusion: Robbing banks by yourself isn't fun. As a single player experience Payday 2 is horribly frustrating. The AI doesn't flatter itself; both friendly and enemy. The objectives aren't suited to a solo player, and missions can be needlessly tricky. In short, it's bordering on broken. But that's not how this first-person shooter is intended to be played, and for every player you add to the mix, things improve accordingly. Two's company. Three's a good crowd.
  • Pros: + Great co-op action + Well implemented RPG elements + Lots of customisation options
  • Cons: - Can be a bit of grind at time - Some repetition

PayDay 2 - Análise

Brasil Gamer
2 September 2014
