Summary: I am very disappointed with this game. Pro's Alright concept Con's Very poor AI You play through the whole game with only a handful of weapons and vehicles Game is very linear though you can go virtually anywhere Does not give you the feel of a massive battlefield like ArmA 2 Weapons deal low damage Multiplayer servers are shut down though you can get around this by organizing a LAN game with someone The DLC is pricy considering that the game has nothing to offer and...
Summary: I played Operation Flashpoint since its original launch (named Cold War Crisis). So when I did receive the notice that it will be developed for the PS3 platform I was very excited about it. I did expects to see the great characteristics of the past game plus new features and capabilities. The Operation Flashpoint games is not a regular shooter game. It is very realistic, You can get hurt or killed with just one shoot. It does required strategy and control of your team.
Summary: I am not a big fan of the Call of Duty series, though I have had fun playing them. I more enjoy a tactical game like Tom Clancy's Vegas, Vegas 2, or Metal Gear 4. Operation Flashpoint is like neither of the above mentioned games. I like the direction of it, but it's just too dang hard to have any fun with it. I can't get beyond the 3rd mission, well I could, but I am tired of the bologna. This game needed a better tutorial to understand how to really play it.
Summary: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising aspires to bring military simulation shooters like the original Operation Flashpoint and ARMA I&II to consoles. Unfortunately between Codemasters lack support and dishonestly on their packaging, it fails miserably. To date the game has been patched once since release and some downloadable content has been released but for PS3 owners that DLC is lost in limbo with Codemasters saying they gave the content to Sony to release and it's in...
Summary: I REALLY DID! Let me start off by saying that this game COULD HAVE BEEN one of the best military games to hit the game console market...Unfortunately (in MY opinion) it failed miserably. It wasn't the graphics, because they were incredible! IT WAS THE GAME PLAY!!! Seems to me like everything in this area failed: > The controls > Basic level information > What the HELL am I supposed to do on this level? > How the HELL am I supposed to do it?
Summary: When I first bought this game, I was excited. I was told the tactical realism is there, however, I feel that this game makes the United States Armed Forces look REALLY bad and weak. PROS: 1. Sound Effects: the fire from the rifles sounds almost like the real thing. You can hear the ping of the bolt as you fire your weapon. The vehicles sound good too; every little bit of detail from the wining hum from the turbine engine of an M1 Abrams to the Blackhawk.
Summary: The idea is that you have a big open map and can use that you can use any number of strategies and squad commands to keep the tactical advantage in a kind of war simulation. Generally it is a lot of fun, and I like the idea of 1 hit kills, and injuries affecting your abilities to aim/run etc. The poor AI and awful save system really drag it down though.
Summary: Pros:The game is stunning in both realism and look. Tactically and realistically the game is beyond anything else on the market. However, that is often what is the positive to this game Cons: The game is extremely challenging to someone who is not used to squad based action games Most of the fire fights take place at great lengths, and it is often unsure if the enemy is actually downed from your fire.
Summary: I really wanted to enjoy this game and I was a big fan of the original Operation Flashpoint but on so many levels this title fails. The single player campaign has some great elements but the awful AI and the fact that the game routinely forgets the last save means you spend all your time working around the problems and re-playing levels rather than enjoying the game.
Summary: I bought this game today well it was either this or socom confrontation with the bundled headset which i was going to get but they didnt have. So i just though eh ill just buy this game because it looked pretty good from the videos to the screenshots. I was wrong this game like what was mentioned in some previous reviews has bad graphics for far range.
