Summary: NHL 2K8 looked as though the 2K Hockey series had finally turned the corner in next video hockey. The graphics were much improved over 2K7.The franchise mode is deep. The goalie animations and AI are the best a hockey game had ever seen.
Summary: Absurdly difficult, frustrating game. Strategy is strictly trial-and-error, and when you find a tactic that works the next wave will be custom designed to destroy your towers, making you have to start all over again. At 17 waves, its not challenging, it's just sadistic.
Summary: Up till now I have always considered EA sports to be the forefront in sports games against the 2k line. I bought this after "somewhat" enjoying a fantasy draft franchise on 2k7. I am an actual hockey player of 15 years so I know how the game should play or atleast feel.
Summary: I bought it because I have been buying 2K for the past few years. This year the NHL game has gone downhill. They haven't resolved the freezing issue. They also took out of the game some good features I liked. Season mode they only allow you to play one game on any date.
Summary: Although the controls of this game are very responsive and the visual crisp and clear. The overwhelming amount of advertisement and "realistic" elements were just too much for a relaxing game. Hyper-competitive or hardcore hockey fans would love this game though. Happy Gaming!
Summary: I purchased a copy of the game for £20 as I love Ice Hockey and found NHL 2K7 to be fantastic. However I found the controls a nightmare totally changed to 2K7 and a lot harder to get to grips with and making it virtually impossible to score!
