Does EA even play their games before they release them?

Summary: Or check the size of the "steelbook" casing? My copy wont even fit in my DVD shelf, that is made for individual discs. The casing for the Stanley Cup Edition is atrocious and cheap. It is oversized and plastic with an aluminum feeling wrapping that makes the case too large to store with other DVD's (which are already larger than PS3 and BluRay dics). In addition, the game play is not all that changed from the 2002 version of the game.
Summary: If I had rated this product when it first came out it would be 4-5 stars, as they had the skating engine working great where users could not simply skate in circles waiting for the defender to be a step behind, but then with one of the patches, they moved everything back to the old skate dancing tactics, which are frustrating to watch when playing online. If they're going to say it is realistic, they should have stuck with the original product.
Eh, just ok... Simulation times in GM mode are unacceptable

Summary: The gameplay is fine, the skating is very smooth, and control seems realistic, however the checking animations are very choppy and not fluid at all.... The big issue is simulating in GM mode, which is like the only mode I play to build a dynasty... It takes waaaaaay to long to simulate through games... I could only make it through one season, and I had enough. I don't understand how it could take so long when games like NBA 2k13 I can sim through in no time.
Summary: Let's start at the beginning. I'm a teenager who unfortunately has never played ice hockey but is an avid fan. I have played NHL 11 and NHL 12 for hours on end, but I just can't seem to rack up the minutes on NHL 13. I have a PS3, and it's about 3 years old. It should run fine, right? Wrong. Every time I try and advance my be a pro past the Draft, it freezes, without fail.
