Summary: Want your defender to hold the blue line with at least a mild awareness that they are holding the offensive zone? Nope. Want your winger to cut to the inside to beat a defender to the pass? Too bad! Andrew Ference cancels out Pavel Datsyuk in this awful, awful simulation every time, so save your money! This game is liquid s***. Unless you find building an dynasty-level team, only to see it crushed by a bunch of 68's fun.
Summary: I pre-purchased the game to get the code and I'm still waiting. I contacted EA and they told me to contact Amazon since I purchased it through them. Made an email to Amazon and never heard back. I pre-purchased NHL 14 so I'm hoping I get a code that works. In the future don't purchase a game in advance.
Summary: WHy did EA sports think it was a smart idea to incoporate line changes onto the player movement joystick???? WHile directing your controlled skater on the ice, you will randomly change lines by pressing the joystick downward which happens constantly as you play the game...The changing lines randomly creates easy scoring chances for the opponent and there is no way to change the controls off of the joystick.....dumb...
Summary: The game first came out back in sept and was amazing. As a college hockey player the game was legit and you had to actually play hockey in order to do well.... Then came the first tuner set. Wow. Absolutely horrendous. I don't know what happened but it went from legit hockey. To forehand backhand glitches. Again. The online play as of April 2013 is the worst since the game came out. It's to the point where if 2k sports made an NHL. I'd return EAs to buy that one.
Summary: NHL 12 was an awesome game. I waited until the lockout was over to buy NHL 13 and I am really unhappy with the game. I have to re-learn how I play the game and I just didn't have the time to really want to sit and get used to the way you have to skate. There is nothing exciting about any of the offline features. As an average gamer of the NHL video games I wish I skipped this one and stuck with NHL 12.
Summary: EA's most recent update makes NHL 13 a very realistic game as it pertains to the current NHL season. You can play as either the Owners or Players. You make contract proposals to the opposing side which are immediately rejected. There is no actual gameplay currently in NHL 13. The recent update does add "Bettman Mode" which enables you to cancel any games you might have thought about playing. "Bettman Mode" also allows you to actually destroy the game.
