Fun game with good action

  • Summary: Fun game. Still learning all the finer points of playing. Game froze once so I hope that isn't a continuing occurrence.

Good price if you are not picky about current rosters and that sort of thing

Daniel, Amazon
20 April 2013
  • Summary: This is a pretty good game. It is the only hockey game I have played on the PS3 but it seems good (EA has been refining their craft for a long time now). The music gets repetitive but you can load your own songs onto the title screens. THE SERVERS HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN. This means that online play is now impossible. I did not know this when I bought it. That's EA for ya..

NHL 11

LoMac, Amazon
10 February 2013
  • Summary: There is actually nothing wrong with this game. The play is realistic and the graphics are great. The problem is the steep learning curve that none of the little neighbor kids even blink at! I guess it's a generation gap thingy. Oh well, none of us old foggies should be playing with kids toys anyway. I'll just stick to using my PS3 for playing blu-ray movies. Sometimes I don't understand them either!.

  • Summary: I liked that I could download the Bruins horn and goal theme song into the game. Made it feel more realistic when I played.

Fun, easy play

Lee Palacios, Amazon
11 September 2012
  • Summary: I'm a NHL fan but I hate buying sports games because they seem to be obsolete after one year. I haven't bought an NHL game since the mid 90's, I decided to go with EA because they're a big name brand. The controls were easy to learn and I was able to start playing immediately. Fun to play but the fight sequence could be a little better and easier to access.

  • Summary: The controls were a little difficult to learn at first, but once I became comfortable, the gameplay was second nature and I really enjoy playing this title. Can't wait for NHL 13!

Fun game with flaws.

Daniel Brown, Amazon
22 April 2011
  • Summary: Sometimes the goalie freezes the puck and no whistle ever blows. Commentary sometimes just stops. When it does work, its the same stuff as we've heard for years. The faceoffs are a big improvement. A fun game but they ship with bugs. I wish they would fix it instead of adding more each year. If all the bugs were fixed this would be a perfect game. They do need new commentary. For hockey fans the faceoff fix is a welcome addition.

NHL 11 Rocks!

Mr.er!k, Amazon
23 March 2011
  • Summary: So this is the first sports game I bought for my PS3 and it's simply awesome, great graphics, the commentators are never very repetitive, and it's lots of fun to play. The only downside is it has a very sharp learning curve, so expect to be out shot and beaten quite badly the first couple games. The hardest part is scoring and setting up strategies but other than that it's a very fun game!

An addictive game

Burnie10, Amazon
24 January 2011
  • Summary: I recently purchased this game from Amazon and it is addictive. People who own NHL 10 may not see the differences right away, but the more you play the more you notice how much has changed. The hits are definitely different. The ultimate hockey team is actually pretty interesting to play once in a while, the micromanaging however could probably annoy some people. I found the concept a bit refreshing.
