Summary: Crappy Game. You basically can't even move your goalie without putting him in a separate goalie mode. About 20$ of wasted money. Otherwise, confusing controls. If you buy this, you'll agree with me on this game.
Summary: NHL 11 is one of the worst games I've played in years--sports or otherwise. It is one of the worst hockey games in the last 10 years. If you account for the advances in technology it might be the worst hockey game of all time. The original Slap Shot and Ice Hockey on the NES were more fun than this, and had better controls. The graphics are great, but that is pretty irrelevant if nothing else works.
Summary: Purchased with high hopes. Game play is fun....if your goalie is not constantly scoring on himself or... if your be a pro player doesn't get caught on an infinite line change loop until there is a whistle. Honestly, the frustration of the the glitches make this game annoying to play. Would not recommend...wait until EA takes the time to fix its issues.
Summary: This game has a lot of improvements that sound great but simply don't do much but cause problems. First of all, the new HUT mode is INCREDIBLY buggy. I've not even bothered to play it because of the reviews from friends, who can't believe EA would release such a product. Not only does it cause your system to freeze often, it also has bizarre game mode problems such as putting two goalies on the ice for your team and only 4 skaters or no goalie at all.
Summary: Surprised this didnt come up in other reviews or else i wouldnt have bought this game...ROSTERS!!!....not even close to be up to date....this is ridiculous....one reason you buy the newer games is for a few tweaks they make, but mostly for updated rosters....only in my first game, i realize Asham is still on the Flyers and Guerin is still on the Penguins..
Great... If you want a simulation instead of a game

Summary: The graphics are decent and player movements look good, but playability is horrible. Don't get me wrong,I don't expect the inflated scores and bone-rattling checks of the older NHL games. However, I expect to at least have decent controls. I have played a lot of NHL games since I first bought EA's NHLPA '93, but I feel like I can safely say that this is the worst one yet.
Summary: I own NHL 10 and really like it. To be fair, NHL 11 has upped the ante in realism - you can break sticks, knock them out of player's hands, and throw realistic hipchecks. But there are some significant downsides: 1) Reactions are slower; they've made the game more realistic, but your reactions are going to be much faster than you players. Carrying a puck up ice, you see a situation developing, you react, the player does not (at least not in time). That's frustrating.
Summary: A more realistic review of the NHL 11: Pro: An Improvement from last year but still some minor setbacks that makes this game unplayable. The goalie is much better and makes it harder to score (more realistic). Cons: WHO makes a game without being able to change controls? You HAVE TO USE the STICKS when you play online, you cannot "CUSTOM" controls to use buttons instead of the stick. Who does that? The POKE CHECKING DRIVES you crazy!
Summary: GEkauft ausgepackt los gehts.
