EA's Madden team could learn a thing or two... NHL 10 is amazing

Summary: Its been a long time since I've given a 5 star review on Amazon but NHL 10 takes the cake. As a "used-to-be-huge" hockey fan, I know enough about the sport to understand that hockey is more about defence than offence.
Summary: After trying several sport games on the ps3 and not using them for more than a few hours I tried once again. Shockingly, this one grabed me. The difference maker for me were the practise modes which got me used to the basics. Playing with my daughter for hours on end we are having a ball.
Summary: Amazing game. No more easy victories. Even if you lead 3 nothing after one you can't be sure you will win the game. The controls are hard to master at first but the game only keeps growing on me. I think this is the best sports game I have ever played.
Summary: I buy a lot of sports games, but hockey is not one that I buy every year. In fact it's been quite a few years since I have purchased one, but after having so much fun playing NHL 10 for the past few weeks I'm wondering why that is.
Summary: Like others I would rate this game as a 9.5, but since thats not possible I'll settle for giving it a 10. The game is definately an improvement over last year especially a passing system that's not so difficult as to ruin the game, but hard enough to prevent people from doing 20 behind the net one...
Summary: EA has really been stepping it up the last couple of years. They've created some great new original IP's like Dead Space, Army of Two, and the upcoming Dante's Inferno, but their crown jewel of late has been their NHL franchise.
