Summary: NHL 10 is by far my favorite NHL game that I have played. Spending over 100 (maybe even 200+) hours in the game means to me that it was excellently done. Of course, the graphics aren't the best and it has it's flaws, but I love the feel to this game. Recently picked up NHL 12 and I do like that one as well. This one just has a classic feel to it. Great, great game!
Summary: the game speed is what makes all the difference...08 and 09 are a good pace but nhl 10 has the best game speed to graphics to stat-to-play realness 11, 12, and 13 all slow down in game play which makes them more realistic but takes away from some of the intensity of gameplay
Summary: I have never played any NHL games before but I like hockey. I said what the hell, and this game is surprisingly fun. I really enjoy it with friends, not as much by myself but I like this game a lot. I would totally buy it again...
Summary: Good game. Good community. I'm just not a very good player, so my enjoyment was limited. The physics and gameplay are smooth and enjoyable, but I would occasionally see AI controlled teammates and opponents stand idle while a puck passed a foot in front of them.
Summary: I waited until this game was under 20 bucks before I threw down the cash and I got burned by EA once again. (This time it was from a sports title and not The Sims and their SecuRom crap) At first everything was fine for the most part. I haven't played an NHL title since 01 so I can't compare it to the other years, but I noticed that there was a total lack of a "sprint" or "speed burst" button which cheesed me off and the goalies seemed really hard to score on.
Summary: I like hockey games but didn't buy this for myself. My 11 year old nephew said he'd been playing the demo for a while and the game-play was so much fun he got hooked and asked for a copy. He says he likes it better than the other Hockey game(s) he has.
