Summary: this is a good game. don't listen to the bad reviews. the rating of 7.3 is a under rated rating of this game. I have not played a lot of this game yet. but I can already tell it is a good game. it is not that much money. it is worth the money.
Summary: Ive bought this game yesterday and it is pretty good. i seen a few peoples comments, complaining about the gameplay, it isnt bad unless you suck at the first level. The only thing this lame lacks on is the type of cars. It has an ok selection of cars i wish it had more diffrent ones. Overall, its good i recomend it to those that like racing games.
Summary: This game is probably the best "Need for Speed" game for the PS3. I can't speak for other consoles since I only own the PS3. My major (and perhaps my only significant) problem is that it isn't split screen multiplayer. It's such a disappointment that none of the "Need for Speed" games are locally split-screen multiplayer. I mean if it's going to be a racing game, it should definitely be offline multiplayer; there shouldn't be any excuses.
Summary: Need For Speed Shift is a good game but be ready to get agitated while always swearving off the road. You can cange the difficulty to easy and it'll help alot more. There is a great assortment of cars listed by the makers just be ready to save up some money.
Pros: Great game with "mind-bending" visuals. Over the past few years, NFS games kind of sucked. Ever since NFS Most Wanted, I was really expecting something better from EA. And finally, they made a game comparable to NFS MW. Not really a hard core racing game fan, I mean...I like all intense games (i.e. FPS), but this game is intense, great online, and has most of the cars people love. Another thing I like about this game is the race tracks are incredibly accurate, such as...
Cons: Game on my PS3 takes terribly long to load. No Ferraris, and EA, if you are reading this, you have to have FERRARIS in your game. There are Lambos, Porches, Mercs, BMWs, practically every supercar you can imagine, but no Ferrari. Should make more money doing endurance racing, for doing 10-20 laps on a long track, I expect to make 500,000 not 40,000. The game has been out for a while, and really needs to go down in price.
Summary: Also, I don't care for the drifting events in this game. It reminds me of that terrible fast and the furious movie.
Pros: Graphics are the best i've seen in a racing game, the physics are pretty realistic too. I like how EA combined elements of a sim racer with an arcade racer. This combination creates a very fun and enjoyable racing game that doesn't get too repetitive and boring over time.
Cons: Graphics output only supports 720p. I don't know what EA was thinking when they decided not to allow the game to upscale to 1080i/p, which basically every other game for ps3 can do. Given that most HDTV's support 720p outputs though, its not that big of a deal. However, if you have an older TV that only supports 1080i for instance, you will not be able to play this game in HD.
Summary: Ive been a big fan of NFS for a long time. But when pro-street came out it gave me a whole new respect for the franchise. Then undercover came out and stank up the place. But now Shift is here and it has everything a racing game needs to last. The challenge of the game sometimes is just keeping your car on the track. My biggest complaint is the driver duels that just sucks. The graphics are really good in HD and the sound is really great.
