Summary: Bad internet connections (or the lack of it) can prevent you from liking this game. There's no split screen enablements so you are going to be alone driving your car. Bumping in other cars to bust the bad guys seems a little extreme... I would think having tools to stop the cars and drivers abilities to escape from each tool would increase the level of the game. All in all is a great game, with tremendous graphics and sounds. And the car explanation is a beauty...
Summary: For the longest time, Split / Second was (and probably still is to be honest) my favourite driving game. I'm sure some people like the real-simulation driving (GT etc), but I figure I can just drive a real car to the store and back for that experience. Hot Pursuit has a nice twist in that there are some challenging objectives and tracks, coupled with the variable of the police intervention (by you or others) along with the standard races.
Summary: Leaving the "Shift" type of simulator game behind, some of the reviews led me to believe that this version would be more like "Carbon", "Underground", and "Undercover". Not so much. It falls somewhere in between. The overall racing is stellar. The cars each are unique in handling and speeds. The crash scenes are awesome. The graphics set this game apart from any other racing game I've played. The attention to detail of roads and scenery is amazing.
Summary: Pros: -Fun game -As of 6-5-2011 there is still an online community -plenty of cars to choose from that all handle a little differently -crisp graphics (though nothing compared to Gran Turismo 5 or Forza) -Once drifting is mastered, it is your friend -Hot Pursuits are fun -Auto-log system keeps offline play interesting! -Can be frustrating....VERY frustrating at times.
Great game, however tries to get you to buy more stuff online..

Summary: The game itself is enjoyable and the graphics are nice. However, my gripe is that instead of allowing you to win certain new tracks and new cars the game tries to con you into buying 'new tracks' and 'upgrades.' Very silly. I paid $60 for a game that is trying to con me into buying extras! No thanks.
