Summary: I purchased this game and enjoyed it, but my intention was to play it online with a friend who also owns it. EA has already shut down the servers for 2008, so can play online. The gave is very fun otherwise.
Summary: More Disappointment Like many people are, I am very disappointed with this game. I have been an avid fan of NCAA games for the past 5 years or so, but this game is practically unplayable for me. In the past, I have mostly played Dynasty mode. However, in my opinion, it's not very fun in this game. Many people seem to like the new recruiting system, but I hate it. It is overly complicated and requires about as much time as the actual games do.
Very disappointed based on the hype. Where are the PS3 level Graphics ??

Summary: Let me first clarify that the game is somewhat fun to play. I enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed the last few NCAA football games from EA. The problem is that I didn't pay $500+ dollars for a PS3 to get graphics and content at the PS2 level. I am not saying that there are not some animations upgrades and the player movement is very fluid.
Summary: After work, I bought NCAA Football 08 for the PS3. There was a lot of hype for this game and to be honest, it doesn't live up to it. Graphics ======== For the PS3, it is played on 720p which is quite a disappointment. After hearing it will be on 1080p, I was expecting stellar graphics and fast frame rates. Playing Madden 07 on the PS3, I was hoping for a huge step up. The stadiums are very well designed and they bring their own uniquenesses along as well.
Summary: I have been a fairly loyal fan of the NCAA Football series since the 2003-2004 version. Most of the other reviewers have hit the high and low points of this version. After having played four to five versions of this game I cannot understand why the haven't changed the code which has the AI team execute a screen pass on third down only to have the running back step out of bounds and loose a couple of yards. Are the play testers at EA that bad?
Unless you're a college football fan, you shouldn't get this.

Summary: The only reason I keep coming back to this game is because I am a huge Trojan fan. If I was just into any kind of football, I'd stick with Madden. Madden has way more options, and probably the only thing that NCAA has over the Madden series is the recruiting system and the spread option offense. What I don't understand is, why am I so good at Madden, and yet, on NCAA, I can't throw a pass without fearing for my life that it will get picked off?
Summary: I really like the NCAA franchise and was very excited to get the latest edition. I don't think they actually designed it for PS3. I think more or less they designed the game and then tweaked it for each system. There is no "next gen" to it. In '07 the Main Menu came right up, now there is a longer wait time. It loades...and then has to read the hard drive...umm...shouldn't that have all happened in the loading process? I thought these things were suppose to be faster?!?!
Summary: WAY too many interceptions. Even by the cpu. In legend mode I was a running back and wanted to pull my hair out because I had to sit back and watch my 5 star calliber QB throw pick after pick. So, I started over as a QB. It started out pretty good, but I opted to be an option QB as opposed to balanced or pocket passer and the only plays the cpu would call were option plays. Luckily, I was able to call audibles, which I did every other play if not more.
Summary: So all in all I think this game is kind of run of the mill. I've been an avid EA college football fan for years now. The one thing that always brought me to the game was the "Create A Team" mode. There was nothing better than making up your own cupcake team, building it's schedule and taking it from nothing to a powerhouse, worrying if you were going to get fired as a coach.
