Video Game talk
17 May 2010
  • Excerpt: NCAA Basketball 10 is the final college basketball game in a long running series from Electronic Arts. As of this review, the 2011 release was cancelled mainly due to a series of legal woes based around representation of college players in the games. Its really unfortunate that this is the final game as Electronic Arts had a solid basis for a basketball game due to the continual development of their NBA franchise.

NCAA Basketball 10

Digital Chumps

  • Conclusion: I think that EA has made some real progress with the series. You absolutely have to give them some major props for creating such a real presentation. With the help of CBS and ESPN they have made the NCAA Basketball game much better. With that said, EA still needs to tweak their control scheme a bit and make it work better with situations. The lack of obvious dunks and drives keeps this from becoming an excellent title. EA has come this far, let's hope they go further.

Game Informer

  • Conclusion: Concept: Fine-tune the gameplay and add motion offense to deliver an authentic college hoops experience Graphics: With exciting replay packages and a wealth of statistical overlays, the CBS presentation quality rivals the best in any sports game Sound: Having two broadcasting teams breaks up the repetitive commentary, but why does Bill Raftery sound like a cartoon dog?

Gamer vision
20 November 2009
  • Excerpt: In addition to NFL exclusivity, it seems that EA Sports has now cornered the market on college basketball games.  This time, though, it has nothing to do with shady deals that cut other publishers out of the picture.  Instead, EA has gained its college hoops monopoly by attrition.  Last year, 2K Sports opted not to produce a college basketball game, and despite rumors to the contrary, the same holds true for this year.

Expert Review

GameSpot
19 November 2009
  • Summary: College basketball players frequently try to emulate the professional stars. It makes sense that they would strive to mirror their high-profile brethren, given that the NBA has a much larger following, has more recognizable stars, and just loves giving out massive guaranteed contracts. This imitation is fully realized in NCAA Basketball 10, which plays almost exactly like NBA Live 10 .
  • Pros: Action accurately mirrors real sport, Motion offenses are lots of fun to run, Great competitive matches, online and off, Awesome commentary with Gus Johnson
  • Cons: Players sometimes have lousy court awareness, Not enough unique modes

NCAA Basketball 10 - PS3 - Review

GameZone
18 November 2009
  • Excerpt: Historically, basketball has had two leaders in the game industry: NBA Live and NBA2K. The two famed franchises have gone back and forth for the past 10 years. Others have tried to encroach on their territory, but none of them have been able to take away the crown. NCAA Basketball 10 is the first game that could actually change that. Considering who’s behind the title – EA, the same developer/publisher that makes NBA Live – this shouldn’t be too surprising.
