Summary: Ever since NBA Live 95 the series has taken a dive. The NBA 2K series is much, much better! The game does not play smooth at all. The graphics do not compare to NBA 2K at all. Go with the 2K series if your enjoy a true game of basketball!
Summary: I was disappointed in this game. The graphics are terrific, the Live 365 feature ahead of the times, but I found the game play to be horrendous. Previous editions of NBA Live were much better. I sold this game and have not missed it at all.
Summary: I don't know if EA just thought they could put out a faulty game because they could fix the problems online later or what, but with all the amazing games that are coming out now it's inexcusable that a simple basketball game would be this glitchy. Some of the problems: 1. Sometimes the game just starts acting weird. I took over in the middle of a simulated game, only to find that there were 2 Russell Westbrooks on my roster, one at SG and one at PG.
Summary: Pros 1. Multiplayer (I only say this is a pro because apparently nba 2k9 is 1 player.) 2. Players look and shoot how they do in real life.\ 3. 3 point contest and Dunk contest are fun when bored with the game. Cons. 1. If player is hurt in real life, you can't use that player in "play now". If you opt to use default rosters, then whoever was traded early in the season will still be on original team. 2. No halftime show, highlights, recap, end of game recap, nothing. 3.
Summary: For all of the improvements that this series has made in terms of graphics and online features, it seems as if the gameplay gets worse every year. I can't comment on Live 08 because I didn't even bother with it last year, but it seems like the last decent Live game was probably 05 or 06. The player movement is terrible. When you change directions while dribbling there seems to be a lag before your player actually turns, resulting in some very frustrating situations.
Summary: The graphics in this game are amazing!! The commentating is awesome.... but when it comes down to gameplay, thats where the game is kinda funny.. The players move to stiff, and aren't fluent enough. I constantly have a fast break and a guy open for a long pass. As soon as I pass it to him, instead of going straight to the bucket, he goes into a triple threat stance, allowing time for the other team to get back to defend!! WTF! This happened to me over numerous occations!
Summary: I bought this game for young friends and haven't played it myself. I don't regret the purchase, but they rarely play the game. Football is their sporting preference and they particularly enjoy FIFA 11. I have scored and rated the game accordingly.
Excerpt: "...game had huge potential, the NBA live 365 was ingenious, and i was so excitied about this title i even pre ordered it. The idea behind it had potential, the hot streak and updated trade as they happen, really made the game feel like a real franchise. But the gameplay is sloppy and feels slow, for anyone that plays or watched basketball regularily this would be a waste of your hard earned cash. The game just doesn`t do justice to the the real thing, ...
Pros: NBA 365 really does make the game relalistic, Plenty of game modes mean there is plenty to do
Cons: Gamplay is sloppy, player visuals are not great for lesser known players
Conclusion: i thought perhaps i would try this game instead of nba 2k9 as i love 2k9 but i think certain aspects could be improved...including rebounding. only to find the rebounding on live is terrible! as well as alot of other things, not enjoyable and not worth it.
