Summary: The graphics are great and the game is fun overall. However, it is a little annoying that the referees call things against you and do not on the other team. For example, when you are throwing in the ball, if you don't get it in in like 4 seconds it is a turnover. OK, fine, as long as it is called the same for the other team but it isn't.
Summary: This core game here is very good, however lacking a campaign or franchise mode really hurts the game. Additionally the AI gets predictable over time and you start blowing out the computer. Not a bad game, but not great either.
Summary: In an effort to make this game as real as possible, it seems that designers decided that dunking and driving the lane are not part of the NBA. I disagree, but then again I only watch NBA games I don't design them. A graphically superb product is dragged down by completely unbelievable gameplay. Can anyone please explain why my player would do a fadeaway jumper on a fast break? Over and over??
Summary: Bought this for my new PS3- and like all the other reviews, have to second that the visuals and motion graphics are the best I've ever seen. However, a couple of gameplay issues have made this a far less satisfying game for me than it should be- I'm experimenting with the slider bar adjustments to see if I can fix this, but so far heven't been able to see much of a difference.
Summary: After playing the game for 3 months, I have to say that the game is very fragmented in terms of quality. VERY fragmented. Some parts are absolutely incredibly well done. Player movement and emulation of real-life players are awesome, definitely best ever. Association mode is as good as it's ever been, and the defensive lockdown feature is a nice add-on. Also, the way they've approached player attributes is brilliant.
Conclusion: This game is a solid attempt. The graphics are average and gameplay is weak. To really enjoy this game and finally win some games i had to adjust the settings. For example by speeding up the game play i found the game more fun and easier. Before i got this i had NBA LIVE 08. That particular game broke but in my eyes, NBA LIV is the way to go. This game is solid but LIVE has better graphics, gameplay and fluency. Good game but something lacking!
