PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: NBA 08, quite simply, is the best NBA title for PSP and a must-have for fans of the sport. Highly recommended.
  • Pros: Tons of mini-games and game modes to keep you entertained, Solid 60fps animations, Great Online Multiplayer experience with nearly no lag
  • Cons: Shot controls could be improved, Long load times

NBA ’08

PS3style.com
29 May 2008
  • Conclusion: NBA 08 is a mediocre basketball game. It has its ups and downs… probably more downs than ups. The gameplay has too many quirks that take away realism and fun. Maybe I was a little harsh in this review but I was given two basketball games to review back-to-back.

NBA 08

Digital Chumps
26 March 2008
  • Conclusion: NBA 08 is a disappointment. It falls well short of being anytype of competition to EA’s Live or 2K Sports 2K series, but more importantlythe game seems unfinished and broken. I cannot recommend this title for even arental in the state it’s in unfortunately.

NBA 08

The Armchair Empire

  • Conclusion: last few years. The clothes they wear reacts to changes in momentum and speed, but they look like a bunch of Ken dolls. It also doesn’t help that the animations suffer from a distinct lack of variety and situational awareness.

PSX Extreme

  • Excerpt: Last year, when I first played NBA 07 on the PlayStation 3, I could tell that there was a lot of potential in the franchise, despite my low score. Ultimately, NBA 07 lacked some refinement and was nothing more than a tech-demo, as opposed to a full-fledged basketball game. Why a tech-demo?

And rather well covered at that, mostly due to the otherwise superfluous supplemental content, like reliving games of the week, living the 'Life,' and dodging the...
