PS3 Review - 'Nat Geo Challenge!: Wild Life'
23 December 2010
Summary: Nat Geo Challenge!: Wild Life is a fun, interactive trivia game where up to four players can compete from a selection of 15 types of entertaining quizzes, which include a variety of image-based questions, anagrams, and video observational questions.
Excerpt: About two years ago, I reviewed National Geographic Panda . It was the first National Geographic game that I had even heard of. Now there is a new National Geographic game, Nat Geo Challenge! Wild Life . Fair warning, Nat Geo Challenge! Wild Life is a highly addictive game that you'll actually learn a lot from! The graphics in Nat Geo Challenge! Wildlife are amazing, but it's not because of any special graphics coding.
Conclusion: A fairly decent jigsaw puzzle simulator wrapped up in a dull, difficult quiz game. Terrific if you are a Life Sciences obsessed teen or retired zoologist, but a waste of time for the rest of us.
Conclusion: Nat Geo Challenge! Wild Life is fun in spurts, but feels a bit disjointed when it comes to consistent information giving and question sessions. Younger players will be fascinated by the gorgeous video and pictures (and even the cute frogs), but the lack of proper information given and good questions asked will potentially frustrate them. There's enough entertainment outside of the questions to help make up for what's lacking, but the overall package needs some work.
Excerpt: If you own a gaming console, chances are low that you operate in complete harmony with nature. Still, we sometimes try to convince ourselves otherwise. The good folks at National Geographic have collaborated with D3Publisher of America – yes, that is their real name – to bring us Nat Geo Challenge! Wildlife.
