Excerpt: NASCAR Unleashed is a mixed bag; a series of contradictions which reduce the target market to a strange niche and, as far as I can tell, limits its possible appeal to gamers who feel the need to collect everything labeled with the NASCAR license. Although it's a strange take on NASCAR, it is officially licensed and, to prove it, you'll get to play as your choice of fifteen of NASCAR's biggest drivers, including: Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Excerpt: Over the years, we’ve seen NASCAR licensed games from both ends of the spectrum. Some have been so seriously devoted to the sport that they’ve borderlined on asinine as far as casual racing fans are concerned. But we’ve also seen arcade-oriented racing fare, like a kart racing game on the Wii, that left some devoted fans in the dust.
Conclusion: Concept: A kart racer that incorporates a few NASCAR touches
Graphics: The game moves fast, and apart from being a little bland, it's at least colorful
Sound: The announcer is annoying, but at least he's not totally useless. He's helpful in pointing out mid-race challenges as they appear
Playability: The car physics can be a little unpredictable – particularly on jumps
Entertainment: The core of Unleashed is decent, but it lacks depth
Replay: Moderately Low
