Summary: Although the online aspect of the game is unfortunately well known for bugs and lag during racing there is still a good online experience since the patches released for the game which toned them down and given that the lobby has a good connection can provide a great online experience.
Summary: It's an ok racing game. My favorite part is designing your race cars. I have about 10 of them. I paint and letter them for friends and copy them and send them to friends for their screensavors. There is so much wasted time in between trying to race online, then they have these stupid trivia facts too, senseless, who cars when it is a drivers b-day or where he was born.
Summary: Unless I missed something during start-up, I am not happy that I can only race for just a few laps in career mode. I am used to the E/A Sports versions that let you decide what percentage of the race you want to run from 10% to 100%. Perhaps as I earn more "trophies" it will unlock something, not sure. If I can only run 5 laps at Daytona, what fun is that. You will never have to make pit stops for anything. Thats half the fun.
Summary: Let me start out by saying that I am a HUGE NASCAR fan. I play NASCAR 09 a ton because it was the only NASCAR game available. After seeing all the videos and all the hype surrounding this game, so far it's been a bit of a disappointment. The game needs major patches to fix issues. If the game didnt have so many glitches and silly mistakes, it could easily be a 4 star rating or an 8/10. Below are the pro's and con's after playing the game for 3 hours.
Using a G27 This is Fun - but it could have been better

Summary: I've only logged about 2-3 hours on this game but i wanted to write a review for those that would consider purchasing it soon. From a value perspective it's not worth the full retail price. Amazon was giving a pretty good gift card credit with pre-orders so I had to buy. I own GT5 and I play it a lot with my G27 logitech steering wheel. I play the nascar series in GT5 and I'm pretty familiar. Actually GT5 is pretty darn awesome when you're driving around daytona.
Summary: At this point you know what's wrong with the game and what needs to be fixed with the new patch. This game is fun and is an improvement over Nascar 09 offline anyway, the online needs to be patched. When the patch is released this game should be 4/5 at least and I would recommend this game to any racing fan or Nascar fan after the patches are released.
Summary: As an arcade racer, this game is pretty fun, can't go wrong there. However if you enjoy playing games in career mode, do not buy this game. Race weekends consist of qualify and race only, gone is the race weekend scenario where you get to practice and tweak the car before qualification and race day. Also, I miss the days where you were able to build your own cars, sign contracts, then go race for your money. So if you're into arcade racing and the fun factor, go for it.
