Summary: I bought NASCAR 09 before NASCAR The Game 2011 was announced and released, mainly for the online portion because the AI in the single player was very inconsistent, such as the other drivers would not acknowledge you being next to them and cause you to wreck. The online was ok until EA shut down the online portion of the game.
Overall, NASCAR 09 may not be an extremely pretty game to look at, but it's certainly not ugly.

Summary: NASCAR racing is kind of like car racing with Zoolander-complex...except Zoolander could only turn right. Regardless, the sport is extremely popular in the United States, and if you think there's something remotely easy about controlling a vehicle constantly moving at speeds between 160 to 200MPH, with 43 cars on a fairly narrow road, you may want to get your head examined.
Summary: The only reason this game gets an average vote from me is the graphics and the complexity of the career mode. This game is very easy to play on any difficulty. Also when you are racing going 180+ mph, it feels and sounds like you're going 40mph. It also seemed to delete my custom paint job and sponsorships every time I tried to look at different sponsors. EA Sports didn't make a NASCAR 10 but they are making one for 2011, and hopefully its better than 09.
Summary: Okay so first off, I am an avid NASCAR fan and have had every NASCAR game by EA since the first game of NASCAR 98. The last good NASCAR game by EA Sports was NASCAR Thunder 2004. After 2004, the graphics have gotten lackluster, the driving and AI have become unrealistic, and the overall playing value has decreased dramatically. With that being said, NASCAR 09 improved the quality from the 2005 to the 2008 games. But it cannot hold candle to 2004.
Summary: first time buying a nascar game and driver controls are real good the game doesn't run like in crazy need for speed type games with cartoon graphics.the graphics are very realistic to the actual tracks the "design your own car" is real cool you put decals on paint color. for me its worth the $20. you get auto updates from EA. never froze up or failed for me.
Summary: Average game. I have had several games in this series and this one is not a big improvement over last year's game. It's great if you are a nascar fan, but its nothing special. If you have nascar 07 or 08 don't spend the money. And if you like to drive with the D-pad this game is analog stick only, not cool for some of us.
Summary: If driving a real NASCAR is anything like the video game, then it should be noted that I would clearly leave it to the professionals. 42 Cars are doing nearly 200 mph bumper to bumper and the 43rd car is all over the place. Causing wreck. After wreck. After wreck. This might be the case where the game is SO realistic that it takes a real NASCAR driver (with the right virtual set up and a steering wheel) to be competitive. I'm not, and I'm more than just the casual fan.
Summary: Just a note that the game overall is just fine, and much easier to play than the 08' edtiion and thats probably for the worst if your good at ht 08' version. My biggest complaint is that I can't play the game in the same room next to my son, soo much for family fun (they forgot the 2-player/head to head racing)
Summary: Arrived on time. I love this game, have had previous versions. The graphics are excellent, and the career mode is great. My only gripe is the change of game play EA have introduced - having to use the analog sticks instead of the D Pad for steering - it's very annoying when you've used the D Pad for every racing game for over a decade! It's not easy to get used to, and there's no option in the settings to change it back!
