Excerpt: Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja: Storm 2 surprised me. I was expecting a straight- forward, thumb straining fighting game. Imagine my delight when there were adventure elements like an RPG. The game follows the anime story fairly faithfully, which means the storyline is complex and interesting. As the story begins, Naruto has returned to Hidden Leaf Village after a three-year absence.
Excerpt: Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm (NUNS) is an anime based game about a ninja called Naruto and his quest. Although based on an anime cartoon it is not necessary to have prior knowledge to enjoy the game. The game manual is keyed around NUNS being a fighting game but the Ultimate Mission Mode has far more to offer with a selection of varied and differing missions.
Summary: Armed with cinematic quality HD graphics, a next-gen battle system, interactive multi-dimensional battle grounds and a seamlessly explorable world, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm will capture the heart of any Naruto fan!
Excerpt: The Naruto name is slowly becoming well recognized in the entertainment industry as one of the few mainstream Japanese anime franchises to become an international hit. The transition from manga to anime to video games has had a positive effect on the series, as it has received plenty of attention worldwide for its creative and action-packed storyline.
Conclusion: Considering there are so many Naruto games on the market, it really says something that Storm actually stands out. Granted the gameplay isn't anything new or complex, and in some cases it can feel a tad redundant. However, the fighting engine is easily the most fluid out of any Naruto game and it's probably the most authentic experience you could ever hope for. Combined with the fast-paced gameplay, the graphics REALLY impress.
Excerpt: Video games based on anime series usually rank right above licensed movie games as far as I am concerned. I’m happy to say that Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm (from here on referred to as Naruto UNS) is actually a fairly good stand alone game, and may be able to keep people entertained who have never even heard of the anime itself.
Conclusion: Ultimate Ninja Storm isn't quite a 'fans only' game, but it gets close to being that thanks to the repetitive nature of the adventure elements and combat. Unless you are really into Naruto, I'd recommend renting this one first.
