Summary: For me this game was just ridiculous. The controls were terrible and almost impossible to figure out. I read the manual and did what it told me to do, but hardly anything I did worked. In my opinion this is a horrible game. Please avoid.
Summary: On the PS3 you can download demos of Sony's MLB The Show 2008 and this title. I (as I'm sure many others) have played both demos. I do like the pitching and batting controls of 2K8, and the play by play of ESPN's Morgan and Miller (best in the game) on 2K8 as well - but it does not come close to making up for the huge quality difference - The Show is much, much, better and simply kicks 2K's rear end.
Summary: Just an awful attempt at a baseball video game. Horrible framerate, terrible graphics, boring gameplay, bad commentary - AVOID! 2K should lose their license to make MLB games after this mess. If you are a PS3 owner you have the option of getting possibly the best baseball game ever made, MLB 08 The Show. There is NO reason to buy 2K8 instead of The Show.
Summary: Being a baseball fan I looked forward to ordering this game. I found the graphics excellent and the play rather realistic. However, the batting is the game's downfall. The batting user interface is poor and it comes down to just chance. The manual and the online reference material are useless. I discarded the game out of frustration. I would avoid this game.
Summary: We downloaded and played this game after playing MLB 08 The Show. This game has terrible graphics, the controls aren't very good either. The pitching interface didn't even make sense. I don't know, after playing The Show this game proves how far behind it really is. 2K8 has some nice games, but the baseball is just bad and full of glitches along with fumbling controls. I agree with the first guy...much more like a PS2 game graphically.
