Excerpt: When it comes to Sony’s MLB: The Show series, I’m beginning to feel as though I’m writing the same review each year. This is because SCE San Diego Studio, or SD Studio for short, brought its highly acclaimed baseball series to the brink of perfection years ago. Since then, each iteration has been better than the one before it, though in ways not always obvious. I’m running out of things to talk about, because the game has been performing at such a high level for so long.
Pros: New game modes, More accessible to newcomers, Plethora of new and updated animations
Review: MLB 13 The Show on Vita falls short of a home run
2 April 2013
Excerpt: Anyone who enjoys baseball games already knows Sony's MLB The Show franchise is the game to own -- that is, if you own a PlayStation console. MLB 13 The Show once again proved to be solid play on the PlayStation 3 , but what about on Sony's handheld system? As with previous installments, MLB 13 The Show launched simultaneously on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, bringing most of the console version's impressive features to the mobile device.
Review: MLB 13 The Show returns to the plate with some welcomed changes
2 April 2013
Excerpt: Annualization is a tricky thing when it comes to video games. More often than not, gamer fatigue sets in. Ideas and mechanics that were once new and fresh begin to feel stale and dated. For sports video games, this is especially hard to overcome due to the fact that there must be a new title every year because, well, the sports world doesn't stop. Somehow, though, Sony has managed to rise to the challenge, year in and year out, with MLB The Show.
Conclusion: MLB 13: The Show might lack the courage to swing for the fences, but it’s entertaining and solid sports simulation. Some of the new features are questionable, such as the throwing meter, while others, like the postseason mode, aren't fleshed out enough to make MLB 13 an instant purchase for those who are content with previous versions.
Conclusion: If you are in the market for an excellent baseball simulation game, or were wondering which is better MLB 2K series or The Show, MLB 13: The Show takes top honors. Though the game doesn’t look that much different from its predecessor, there is enough change sprinkled through the title that make this game worth playing. The change is even more prevalent in the PlayStation Vita version of the game.
Conclusion: The Show retains its place atop the heap of not just baseball games but sports games of all stripes by offering the most options, the widest variety of ways to play and unparalleled customization. Just go get it already!

Excerpt: Welcome to The Final Countdown , GameZone's newest series where we get hyped about games that are just around the corner! As the hours pass, we are counting down the reasons you should be excited (or worried) about upcoming major releases. We're less than one week away until MLB 13 The Show releases exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and Vita. Yesterday, we covered MLB 2K13 , which is also launching on the PS3 as well as the Xbox 360.
Excerpt: Let's me start this off by stating that baseball is my at least my third favorite sport somewhere behind football and basketball and that football has a pretty strong lead over basketball. So, what I'm saying is that baseball isn't anywhere near my favorite. Nonetheless I like it in the sense that I will watch it at a bar if nothing else is on or that I will watch the seventh game of a playoff series.
