  • Summary: I started playing the game straight for a week. At first, the controls were a bit difficult to learn but after playing it a while it got comfortable. I love the "Road to the Show" campaign. It allows you to feel like a real ball player working your way through the leagues; it may take some time to make progress though. Overall it is one of a kind game compared to other version of baseball I owned. The graphics is very good; could see the dirt kicked up from your shoes.

Great pitching and defense, batting is way too hard

Nicholas D. Slabaugh, Amazon
25 January 2011
  • Summary: Great game in so many ways - good attention to detail, great pitching, good defensive play. Batting, however, is really, really hard compared to the rest of the game.

  • Summary: First off I will say that this is not the best baseball game ever created. It is a very good and realistic game that is one of the better new sports games released. One of the features included that is not present in most PS3 games is the ability to play music off your systems playlists in game.

Hitting is too difficult for beginners

J. Saxton, Amazon
4 May 2010
  • Summary: If you've never played MLB10 before, please read this. MLB10 is the most visually impressive baseball game I have ever seen. The AI is very sophisticated and I was even impressed by the announcers. What I dislike, however, is that even at the very lowest level of difficulty, hitting is frustratingly difficult. Even at 'rookie' level and even with the incredible lineup of Golden Age legends, I still have great difficulty scoring more than a couple runs per game.

Good But Could Be Better

J. Perry "Big Joe", Amazon
29 April 2010
  • Summary: MLB The Show 2010 takes off where the '09 version left off. The graphics are awesome and the detail in the franchise mode is incredible. When you look at some of the detail(faces, body, etc) of the players it makes you feel like you are watching a game on tv, even on some of the no-name bench and minor league players. The commentary seems to have been cut and pasted from last years game as the same comments and one liners are used.

The challenge is insane.

JOHN SPANGLER "Johnny Spang", Amazon
14 March 2010
  • Summary: Up front I will tell you I've been playing MLB The Show since the beginning and with every new incarnation, I see improvements. But one thing that continues to evolve is the difficulty. Before buying this game, make sure you can handle not hitting the ball. To make matters worse I had to change the difficulty to "rookie" in order to have a chance. I admit, with any game, it takes practice. But seriously, hitting the ball should not be this hard.

Baseball gaming for the dedicated baseball fan

Charles M. Strnad "Washed up jock", Amazon
10 March 2010
  • Summary: I've been playing The Show series since it's inception, and have previously offered my reviews concentrating only on the baseball gamer who enjoys playing through a full MLB season vs: the CPU. This review will be much the same, emphasizing the pros and cons of this game, largely compared to previous game versions. I'll only mention the other available game modes in passing (Road To The Show, Home Run Derby, etc), as I don't play those much, if at all.

Really fun game for the price

Reviewermail03, Amazon
10 March 2010
  • Summary: Baseball games have always been my favorite ones to play. They take a lot of skill and you need to be able to time your swing just like in real life. It takes strategy too. This particular game has great graphics and a really fun dynasty mode. I recommend this to all baseball fans.
