Summary: This really is one beautiful game; it truely is. The players and ballparks are simply gorgeous. The graphics are first rate for the most part, and game just exudes the look and feel of baseball as you see it on TV. The player mannerisms are all there, and the first time you boot this game on your PS3 you will probably think, "Finally, someone managed to get a baseball game right!!
Summary: I recently bought a PS3 and the first game I rented was MLB 08 The Show. I played MLB 05 and 06 on the ps2 and loved them despite their flaws. For some reason, I expected a game on a next-gen console to be well thought out, if not flaw free. Well, I apparently expected too much. To begin with, the fielding animations are terrible. Outfielders slowly walk sideways half the time to make a critical catch, they look drunk or sun blind.
Summary: MLB The Show 08 has gotten great reviews from a lot of people. Yet what these people aren't telling you is how hard the actual gameplay is. I give this game very good ratings for its graphics, sound, etc. However, I've been playing this game for over a week now and it is nearly impossible to be any good at this game. First of all, the road to the show mode is ridiculous.
