Summary: This could have been a great game. Why not 5 stars? Well I'd say -1 for the ending and the decision to (almost) force you to play online to get the best of the worst endings, then -1 for the story and game play. The story is so-so, and the dialogue wasn't interesting. I am not sure why they messed with the game play, making veteran the new normal. The enemies are also smarter than ME2, which might be a plus for some.
Summary: The ending of this game just killed it for me. Other than that I really enjoyed the progression of all the characters that started off with you since the first Mass Effect. Also, I really enjoyed how the actions in the previous two games carry over to this one.
Summary: I'd truly like to give this game a three and a half, but I'll veer towards three based on ending anger and DLC overload. Nothing new here, and it's more than a bit late, I know, but I wanted to give this one a real long think. The good: The story missions are almost uniformly great in this game. The combat has been tightened up and the difficulty cranked up, which makes more a adrenaline raising experience.
Summary: There are a lot of reviews regarding the story and ending that focus on the series as a whole. Having never played Mass Effect 1 or 2, I thought I'd chip in an opinion as someone trying to start out in the series with this game. Mass Effect 3's developers assume you've played the preceding two games. Right from the word go you're introduced to characters and alien species that you're clearly meant to have some familiarity with.
Summary: First of all, Amazon is great, as always. Best price, prompt delivery. Secondly, this is a spoilerfest of a review. The multiplayer element is also a lot of fun. I've never been into multiplayer games, so it could just be that this is the first one I'm playing. I'm scoring this entirely based on the single player campaign though. I mean, that's what you buy this game for. In the first Mass Effect, there was so much you could explore.
Summary: The game play is amazing. However, it is a pretty lousy ending for a legendary game. The options that are given to you is like do you wanna shoot yourself in the head or would you rather jump off a cliff. I had the best ending possible, yet I am still not satisfied. Still I give it four stars for everything else.
Summary: It is clear a lot of effort went into improving combat and simplifying menus. The PS3 extended cut endings do not seem as extended as video reviews suggest. The story ending is not as terrible as I had heard, but it was weak. I would reserve scathing criticism for story continuity -- if, like me, you enjoy the roleplay experience, you want to be able to continue with your favorite threads.
Summary: its not nearly as compelling as the second mass effect but the game is fun none the less. The ending was HORRIBLE but atleast it killed some time. IT was alot of the same missions over and over again but just different names and faces. If icould i would have waited till it dropped to 20 or 30 to buy.
Summary: The Mass Effect franchise has been something special to me since I've played the 1st. The second game was also fun and exciting with exploration and adventure and tightened up fighting mechanic's improved. THis however was a downgrade same type of fighting no improvement really but hey if it's not broken don't fix it. It does at the Kinect which I didn't use because it was kind of weird and felt way more lazier then just picking and choosing my ability are attack.
