Summary: I'll start out by pointing out some of the bad parts of this game. When controlling outfielders, there are a few glitches in running speed and errors. Also, the "shortcut" menu is really annoying. You find yourself going through a sequence of 5 or 6 menus simply trying to quit a game and start another. The online interface is also pretty bad, and the games are incredibly laggy. On the other hand, this game contains many great qualities that put it ahead of The Show.
Summary: It is a pretty distinct difference between the 2 available games. I prefer 2K9 simply because I enjoy having to do more than press a button to hit and pitch. As far as graphically this game is not as nice as The Show, but I think in their own right they both "cover all the bases" so to speak. They both contain glitches in the animations, so when you make your decision you have to choose, do you want a game or a simulation.
Summary: This game is a baseball sim. It is a really good game. The graphs are great and the controls are awesome too (easy to use but challenge) . The interface was great. The statistics were enough and good. The challenge is good and close to real baseball game. The sound only is good. The best way to test if a sport game is realistic, is in CPU Vs. CPU games; MLB 2K9 pass this test (with some adjusts to sliders).
Summary: This game is the most realistic baseball game next to the MLB 09 The Show. I just got this game yesterday for playstation three and it is a really good game. The camera angle is great, it is also very clear. The controls are awesome too. I like them because they are extremely easy to use. The interface was great. I loved it like any other baseball game. The statistics were good too. Not as good as the camera angle, but very good. The challenge was great.
Summary: i have played the show 09 and 2k9 and i prefer 2k9, the commentating is like being at a real game, i like using the analog stick to hit and pitch the only thing i thought the show did better in was graphics, other then that 2k9 was over all more like a real game on tv to me...a few buddies over who where watching said the same thing that it seemed like an actualy game with the broadcasters and stuff, the show is a excellent game also, but i just like 2ks atmospher more...
Summary: I just got MLB 2K9 today and I already think it is a big hit. Other 2ksports MLB games were not as good, but this game is like the best baseball game on the market. The graphics are amazing and very realistic, like Matt Holliday for the A's looks so much like himself in the video game.
