Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom (PS3)
23 April 2009
Excerpt: Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is a new PSN version of a game that has been made many times before on many different platforms. It’s also available for free in your browser at various online gaming portals, so to be worth buying this would have to be an exceptional game. It does compare well with other versions, but not as well as it could have. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a relaxing puzzle game for your PlayStation, I can still recommend it.
Excerpt: Mahjong solitaire has long been a popular tile-based pastime. There is a great number of people who have been enjoying this variant of traditional Mahjong on computers and mobile devices for years. This game, while fairly simple in nature, does involves some skill, strategy, and calculation. However, the folks at Creat Studios didn’t get seem to get this memo when they were creating the utter waste of time and money that is Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom .
Excerpt: Well what can I say about Mahjong Tales? It’s Mahjong. There are tales of ancient wisdom in it. That’s about it. Don’t get me wrong, it plays mahjong great, but the rest of it…well just keep reading.
Summary: Nothing really great about the graphics. Music and sound effects are minimal, and also of poor quality. As a Mahjong fan, I like the gameplay in this title, but it is the same as any other Mahjong game apart from the "Motion" mode. Replay Value There is definitely a lot of gameplay in Mahjong Tales, and a lot of replay value. There's also multiplayer if you're looking for extra excitement.
